Seattle Scene?
Curious to know what the Seattle scene is like? We are in SOFL now, but work may force a move. Just looking for some insight from fellow M3 owners. Thanks!

Do you mean the car scene or something else? There are car enthusiasts here but Seattle overall is a crappy city for cars. See this thread: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=794925
Everyone on this board that I've met is great and people at the track are nice and respectful. It's a good car community with different groups depending on what you're into. Seattle and the NW is about as opposite of So FL as you can get though so if you do head out this way, be ready for some culture and weather shock. What's the job? BTW, this board is pretty dead usually. You can also try the E90post NW board but they're "different" |

God news about the track and exotic car scene. Bad news is I just got done reading an article about the worst cities for traffic in the U.S., and Seattle ranked #4.

Does not surprise me. Traffic is horrible here.
With that said, the car scene in general is pretty big and one of the most active around with lots of emphasis over the last year or two on bringing all 'scenes' together. Lots of cross-brand GTGs, shows and cruises. The E9X scene seems to be pretty small (and quiet, as you'll notice this forum is deadddd). Prepare to trade your sunny days in for rainy and/or gray days. |

You can get around the traffic issue by choosing to live in certain areas and commute at certain times.
I'll be setting up an e9x M3 local cruise through the twisty roads in the snoqualmie valley once the weather is nicer |

-Roads suck especially within Seattle City Limits (wheel and tire insurance highly recommended)
-We only have 2 freeways (yes you read that right) I-5 and I-90 so there is always a traffic jam -In the summer when and if the weather is nice, there is construction EVERYWHERE -Parking sucks -We have TONS of Prius' in Seattle (that should be self explanatory) -Some of our major accidents happen when it is a sunny day (usually involves at least one Prius) -When it snows, you will be stuck at your home (especially with M3), if you manage to go out in the road, someone will smash into your car for sure. As far as car scene......... like someone stated above......what car scene?

I commute everyday on 520. Go to work early, come home late usually avoids the traffic. Plus the toll forces a lot of people to I90. I see a ton of BMWs but not so many M3s (and almost no M5s). I think M3s are relatively rare. I did see a Dakar Yellow E92 the other day on Lake Washington Blvd in the Arboretum. First time I ever saw a custom color E9x around here.
