And that's fine. Just excuse me when I say that I don't believe it without seeing some sort of evidence. You're times in general are cold weather times, but I just didn't want to bring it up, but glad you did. What were temps like in morning when you ran? 47F? Anyways you seemed to have videos of the event, and you were able to post an edited lap out of a session, so why again, did do you not have footage of this 2:39? or any thing faster than the 2:41 that you posted? If your buddy hand timed you or something, then just state that. Other than that, I'm not sure how you expect us to believe what you are saying.

With that said, I know there's someone who can run a 2:37-2:38 with a stockish DCT. I was messing up T14 consistently so I'm guessing there's an easy half second on the front straight. T14 goes onto a long straight that's up hill. So a tenth given up in T14 translates into a lot of tenths at the end.
That's absolutely impossible. I've seen modded GTRs in the advanced group struggle to put that time down. Just check youtube. Tons of stock M3 DTCs running high 2:40s, same as stock C5 Z06's. The exit speeds at the straights are all right around high 130's-140mph, which translates to those times. You were pulling high 130's. The scrubs helped you or else you'd be in the mid-high 2:40s which is nothing to be ashamed of.

Honestly, I have no idea of what's a good time at Road America...first time there. I think the conditions play a huge factor. Morning times will almost never be good this time of year. It takes a full day for the track to get rubbered up and really grippy.

But here's the lap. Its a 2:39...I even watched it in slow motion. Its the 20th lap of the weekend. 4th session of the instructor group, 3 laps from the end. Harry's had a video malfunction on this session for some reason.

Specs on the car:
2011 E90 with 3 options - individual color, DCT, ipod.
Square OEM 18x9.5s
275 conti scrubs square (fronts were falling off at this point)
75mm stud conversion
Stoptech BBK 6pot front/4pot rear with SR34 pads front and rear
GC camber plates (-2.5 camber)
Dinan springs
Dinan front sway bar
Non-EDC shocks
Dinan Pulley
BMW Performance steering wheel, grills and side markers
IND painted reflectors
1/2 tank of gas
I weigh 175lbs
Rear seat and air compressor was taken out
Schroth mini quick fit harness

I was in M Mode, DSC Off, Power off, S4 shift mode.

IMO, most make the mistake of going Power, EDC sport, and S5. It just makes the car ride harder and twitchier.

Yeah, I did run a 57. I was surprised as none of my laps felt that good to me where as other ones later in the day felt awesome, but weren't as fast.

I think I remember your car. Had an ESS or EAS plate in the rear?

Haven't had a chance to run through the video, but I'll let ya know. Had some good battles with I believe one of the instructors (Jordan?) in Josh's car and some other people.

Stee, AWESOME! Care to share why your car is so light? Also how do those stock brake pads last you? Stock rotors or anything else?

I'd go through a set of pads in 3 days at Glen (08) but I am NO Where near running your times. Also you feel the 275s have enough grip at the back?

AWESOME time!!!

Thanks!

Car is light because I removed the rear seats, rear center console and trunk lining. Super easy to do and can go back in any time.

I'm on stock rotors and these pf08s seem to last really well. I've had no brake issues at all. I do try to brake as little as possible (brakes only slow you down anyway ). I have 2 wet/damp glen days on stock suspension and stock contis and 1 long dry day at Monticello on them as well as these 2 dry glen days from this weekend and there's still decent meat left on them. I think a combination of those brake ducts and a mentality that I will brake as little as possible are why they seem to work so well.

The 275s all around felt very balanced. Car didn't understeer or oversteer at all (which also means I left margin on the table). The E92 is new to me, so like a blind man at an orgy, I'm just trying to feel my way through the situation . I expect to be faster next time, even with the same setup.

Bertha is definitely a big girl, but she sure can dance when you tickle her right

Saw your car there, running in the the thunder race group.
Looking good.

I was running in the HPDE 3/4 group that weekend just trying not to hurt myself.
One session I noticed my air conditioning was on and I had to put down the smoothie I was drinking to turn it off. Hurts mpg you know.

Did you just move up to GTS4?

Only session I had solo and was wet most of the weekend, but pulled off my target. Lap timer was on the fritz, but found this vid. After watching all these 2:08-2:12 laps make me feel a bit sheepish, but I'll take it for my first time there
