Congratulations!!
I think this yours are the first pictures where I can confidently say that the e92 M3 looks better than the e46 M3. For some reason it just looks a little dated (obviously it is), but it's just seems like a great improvement. Since they both of your cars are the same color, I have no doubts. Wonderful combination, too! Congrats, and can't wait to here more reviews and see more pics. Best, CSL

Hey everyone, here's a brief writeup:
I'll start with the only semi-negative I found with the car. The clutch is very light. The clutch on my E46 M3 isn't rock solid, but it's definitely stiff enough to make you feel like you're compressing something. The clutch on the new car feels like a feather, and it felt weird shifting when I could hardly tell that I was compressing the clutch. That out of the way, the car is astonishingly good. The major impression I had was that sitting in the driver's seat of the E92 felt infinitely more sporty and intimate than the E46. The E46 in comparison feels bland and unfocused. While the E46 is no doubt a great car, the E92 puts you in a special atmosphere where you have tons of different elements that combine to make what feels like a cockpit. The driver's view of the bulging hood and air vents, the mood lighting, the positioning of the various parts, knobs and buttons, the contrast of the red against carbon leather, and the sound make for a strangely involving experience. The sound is a joy to hear. Where the E46 screeched, the E92 rumbles and roars. It's fairly louder stock than the E46 was. While I was there the dealership basically came to a standstill and everyone came to look at the car. In person it looks menacingly aggressive, particularly with the Gray/carbon roof combination. I brought my 8GB Flash Voyager along for the ride and blasted an old 2Pac song. The stereo is exactly the same as the 08 M5 and thats to say it's incredibly clear and punchy. It's a truly special car and I'll give a more in-depth review when I pick it up on Saturday. |
