Car Warning / Red M3 Virginia Beach

Went to look at this car today:
WBSPM93539E201933

http://www.my1stopauto.com/used/BMW/...18c1e54e34.htm

I figured it was worth a shot as a BMW dealer serviced, 1 owner car, optioned exactly the way I wanted (except for the wood trim).

Unfortunately, the left rear quarter was replaced by a monkey. I didnít dig too far, but the seam sealer in the trunk is missing or incorrectly done, AND the left rear door doesnít close properly. The paint work is also garbage.

Save yourself a trip.

It also suffered a cooling system failure and overheated when they took it out for a shakedown before I got there, apparently.

Shame. Not too many Melbourne E90's out there. It does have 100k miles though.

But still, from photos it even looks a bit rough. My steering wheel still looks new and it's same year and mileage.

There was no expectation of perfection, but obviously bent was a bit much.

For what it was, aside from the aforementioned glaring problems, it was actually pretty nice.

No. Driving down was taking the flyer. I might have paid like $15k for it, but to own that car would require re-doing the rear quarter.

Did you make them the 15k offer? They are gambling on 90% of car owners to not notice.

I was considering looking at that exact car, but lost interest when I saw it had no iDrive.

Shame that it's in worse condition than the pictures show, but I guess that's how buying cars online goes.

It was $7400 to put a new rear quarter on a friendís 335. Iím still puzzled by such shoddy repair work on a car that was (then) two years old.

Old news now, but Wow! Small world, I was a day from purchasing this car! Had the check in hand, and after inspection as OP stated was soo very saddened by the quality of repair work done on such a unicorn car. Thought about it that day and decided I would just have the rear quarter redone correctly and live happily ever after with the car. Long story short I texted John the sales rep I was working with the following afternoon to find out the car had been sold that morning ! Now that Iíve picked up my highly maintained 08 SG e92 ///M Soo glad that I dodged that bullet!!

Good to see a fellow Va owner and that you missed the chance to possibly regret that purchase.

In retrospect, given how my other purchase turned out, I probably should have bought this car...

Aside from the fact that my <$30k car is currently a nearly $40k car, I like it a lot.

The S65 is a way better engine in the sedan than the cabriolet (which has been most of my experience to this point). With nice TC Kline D/A shocks (carried over from my E46, which was convenient), recoding to euro DSC/MDM, it fits what I wanted. A decent to drive sedan that (barely) meets the minimum standard for client/investor presentability. I mean, I've had clients in the back of the E30, and investors in the back of the E46, but that is a *slightly* awkward occasion.

My E36 is still a million times more pleasurable to drive. But it definitely can't do what I need the E90 to do.
