M Performance Exhaust V2

I currently own a 2013 BMW M3. It was purchased with a MPE V1 installed. Of course as all MPE V1ís it cracked under pressure. Was looking to purchase another MPE, but the V2 is what Iím looking for. Does anyone have the part number for the MPE V2 version so I can purchase it from my local BMW dealership. Or if anyone has a MPE V2 for sale please send me info on it.

Thanks for the quick response UPSROD. Is that a V2 exhaust? It doesnít specify in the item details.

Ok cool. Good to know. Just one thing. Iíve seen in other forums that the V2 has a kind of pressure release holes to avoid cracking. Does yours have this? Iím adding a previous picture from an older post of someone selling a V2 exhaust http://www.m3post.com/forums/attachm...1&d=1506142935

I don't know how that pressure relief holes BS got started! Stupid spreads on the internet like wildfire. The holes on each side of the cans is tubing welded and running top to bottom to strengthen them and prevent flexing.

Exactly! They're not HOLES goddamnit, it's a channel that's walled off. A hole would creat an open space to the muffler chambers, which makes zero goddamn sense.

I don't know why people keep thinking BMW actually drilled holes in the muffler (and I've seen some even suggest you drill your own holes in a V1 - WTF?!). Do they really not have a clue as to why that's an absolutely ridiculous thing to even consider?

Thanks guys for all the passionate feedback. New to all this to be honest. Did think it was a little odd the concept of holes in a muffler. But itís also odd that a $4kor more exhaust would crack from daily driving. My vehicle had about 36k miles when I first realized something was wrong. Think itís something that the M performance people need to look into. Again appreciate all the advice. Helped in my decision.

Sheesh, I didn’t realize the v2 goes for over 3.5k... you can get a really nice full exhaust set up for that? What gives? Why get this exhaust when you can get so much better for cheaper

Hey Munich3 join the party. To answer your questionÖ yes the MPE is mad expensive for an exhaust system but I originally bought the car with the MPE installed and want to keep everything original for now. I only changed the wheels. But I still have the original wheels also. And the sound that comes from that MPE is frickiní amazing!! Yeah baby!!!

The list price was over $4000.00 from the beginning in late 2010. Mine was port installed in Oct. of 2012 and was $4067.00 installed and they kept the original muffler!

Not all V1's crack. Mine's still running strong. OP you don't want to fix the crack? Find a shop that can do Inconel welding.

Exactly. My V1 cracked ( welder found 1 major crack and 6 micro cracks when doing the repair) and I had it repaired and reinforced for cheap. Just find a competent welder with some stainless experience and a really good tig welder. It's easy to repair and reinforce and should cost you a small fraction of buying a V2.

Just out of curiosity, what types of noises/vibration were you experiencing when it cracked?

I didn't have any vibrations but it did " buzzzzzzzz" at idle, alot worse when it was cold. Other than that, it sounded like I had an exhaust leak.
