Just finished spring install and forgot...
So I just finished installing Eibach springs and while I was cleaning up I noticed with looks like a black rubber gasket around the e92 bumpstop. I did not notice it before because it looks like a single piece from the dirt. Any case, I was able to pull it off the bumpstop....crap! Do I need to take apart the front again?
From what I can tell and I am no expert it looks like it maybe used to keep the boot sleeve in place? The e36 bumpstop fit perfect inside the boot sleeve. Any opinions? Thanks Dave |

I noticed that part while doing this job last week. The E36 M3 bump stop is thicker and does not require that ring. The accordion boot fits the E36 stop perfectly.

I followed a very detailed DIY and I am surprised there was no mention of it nor any of the "bumpstop" threads?
