M3 VS RS4

What are the strengths and weakness that the 2 cars have over each other?

This has been posted to death, but off the top of my head....

Audi RS4 Pros: 4 door, AWD, FSI engine
Cons: Heavy as $HIT!, costs $72K, sucks gas like a hooker, B8 body style will be out soon

M3 Pros/Cons: well nobody has driven it yet, so it's hard to say.

Audi's would be worth it if they were about half the price.... Of course, just wait 2 years and depreciation will take care of that.

New S4 looks good, I like the LED's up front and rims, though it seems kind of short in the rear.

That's one thing I dislike about Audi, they change body styles like every 3-4 years, so more often than not you are driving an outdaterd car before the lease is up.Though I do like how Audi and MBZ release their S/AMG lines pretty quick as opposed to BMW's M lag.

Interesting POV. The M3 is basically an amped up 3 series which means I guess they all look gay too? Never heard that one.

RS4 is good, but if you want a two door (which the majority of M3s probably will be) then you have to pony up for the RS5. Since the A5 is slated to cost more than the equivalent A4 its a good bet that the RS5 will cost more than the RS4 as well. So figure 75k I guess. That's pushing in _real close_ to CPO 911 territory...

the brand new rs5 has 450 hp and 500 torque...way more than the m3 almost double the torque!!!!! plus the new rs4 and rs5 will be sporting the same rs4 v8 engine plus 2 turbo's...audis all new quatro which looks sick...basically yeah it is 5k more than an m3 but it has twice as much torques, 30 more hp, a v8 with 2 turbo's, the new quatro measures g's yaw, everything the evo's system can do and more varies power front/rear side/side...only thing is Audi's interior has gone down since they made the multimedia screen part of the tachometer and such it is all connected whereas bmw's i drive is segmented and looks good...for me audi took a nose dive on this new interior it looks bad and i loved audi's interiors!!!!! honestly seems like they are one upping bmw on this one regardless of interior!!! the power and handling this car will have will be insane!!!! the new rs5 and rs4 on paper at least look to KILL the new m3 and i was soo excited for the new m3 also!!!!!

They're only pros if you consider AWD and four doors an advantage.

Why do people keep referring to a $70K MSRP for the M, when BMW has yet to announce the car's pricepoint?

I don't know. Actually, I don't even see where it has occurred in this thread. Not that it hasn't elsewhere.

Good question. I also wonder why people keep referring to the specs of the RS5 -- a car which is not due out for a year or more -- as if they are known. Car magazine is very unreliable.
