Question Color choices

Omg so hard to decide. I finished my ED order for my 2011 E90, but I'm so back and forth on colors

IB on speed cloth

vs

White on FR leather

vs.

MR on speed cloth

white on FR is common, Worried I'll get tired of blue. Also love that speed cloth seems to hold up in the long run better. But white on red is such a great contrast. Choices choices choices!!!

Any feedback welcome. Current order is IB on SC

I think you are more likely to get tired of the AW than IB from what I've heard from AW owners. Both look good so you can't go wrong either way!

IB w/ SC would be my choice.

IB is beautiful, but you will pay a price in extra maintenance. Like a 4X increase over White.

A white car can look clean and shiny with a good wash, IB needs regular detailing.

why do you say that??? I'm coming from a silver-grey E46. Thought IB would be great as a flashy M color, the way the car should be. White and Black get dirty fast, which is why I was on the fence with them.

Are you suffering from swirl marks or flaws with the paint? What type of maintenance are you referring to?

When I originally got my E46 I was dead set on Imola Red, the MR really had me going for a while. But don't know if I could live with bright Red every day. I think the IB is darker and adjusts well between sunlight and darkness

I said IB is beautiful. It is really a special M only color. But unless you have owned a black car before you will not understand what I meant by extra maintenance. White shows dirt yes, but wash it and it looks brilliant again. IB shows DUST, not just dirt. Your AW car can be dusty for a few days and you won't even notice. Your IB car will be dusty in a few hours and you will want to clean it.

And no, I'm not suffering from any swirl marks worse than anyone else with this color, I'm just picky. But yes, your finish will need detailing way more than white to have the same look. It is not an easy care color.

I owned a black car and it was a pain to keep clean. I got the silver grey E46 actually wanting IB or Red, so now I have my turn to order what I want. It's been MR vs. IB, but just saw a white E90 and it was really hot. however white has little flash. Always wanted an M3 to stand out like it should. Thats what I did love about my SG was that it never got dirty.

Thats why it's such a hard decisions. I don't have a garage, so I know it will get dirty easily, but when clean... oh lord

What's wrong then with MR? That will be way easier to keep looking good. Once I wash and detail my IB I keep it garaged until the weather is clear (most of the time). I think without a garage you should stick with bright colors like AW and MR. I personally like MR.

LB or IB with silver looks hot, that's what I have. I remember seeing that combo for the first time and was like Not too many people have that combination so it still stands out, the only problem is that the leather takes more work to maintain since it's so light.

I have Alpine White with black leather interior and never tire of it. It is an amazing car and the Alpine White does a great job of showing off the lines from every angle and view.

Never been a fan of white, but it does look good on the E92. I would personally take IB, its a very unique color.

I'm starting to think that MR makes the lines stand out more, especially the black grilles and doors. My GF wants me to go with Red. I think i'm starting to agree, Interlagos may be too hard to keep clean.

I always hated the old BMW Topaz Blue and for some reason this is starting to remind me of it.....

Go for MR, if I was to spec a new one now, that is what I would get!

Of the colors you mentioned, I'd go MR. IB only looks good on coupes, not sedans, IMO.

AW is the perfect colour for the E92, as it shows off the CF roof, and emphasises the side contours.

IB *can* look stunning in the right light, but does not seem to go well with the CF roof, and can look dull in the wrong light.
