My lifelong dream! Hopefully I can make it come true someday. An m4 ED sounds pretty good to me

Ok I know its V8 its NA and its Individual (the best color), but to me it makes more sense to get a lightly used E92 M3 and wait a little for the F30 F32 version for a EURO Delivery.
There is a saying in aviation: "never fly an alpha model anything". The anything referring to a type of plane and the alpha meaning the first iteration of a new type.

My E46 M3 was an '05 (2nd to last year of production) and my new E92 will be the last year of production. Not only that, but I've had several other non-BMWs over the years that were late production and they definitely had a lower rate of defect than the cars I've purchased earlier in the lifecycle.

Means you need to do it...honestly, if you did it on a 328 stripper, your lease would be like $300/month, you could experience ED/Europe and then lease trade the car easily once it returns.

uhg I missed so many bimmerpost members while I was there! We saw a TON of 1Ms, I would say there were as many 1Ms there as M3s, very impressive!

Have you considered wrapping your car? Otherwise, doing an individual order is pretty easy...just have to be ready for that $5000 paint premium

Besides a lot of the enthusiasts on this forum your opinion is shared by the majority of BMW's consumer base. For this reason, between all the incentives and dealing I was able to get the car for $2000 under ED invoice (because its an outgoing model)! What the enthusiast values about this car is that the S65 V8 Motor was designed specifically for the E9X chassis. The chassis and the engine complement each other which is a benchmark of ///M design. With the F30 and other late M models the engine is a tuned version of the mass production motors which are more generic and can be found in multiple chassis's. The 2013 M3 is the absolute last model produced by BMW that maintains the ///M heritage and for this reason it is invaluable to me and other E9X M3 owners.

He doesn't have to buy the first generation of m4. No thanks to miscellaneous problems. Look at the f30 stuff going on for a taste. If that car has waste gate and hpfp issues its gonna be a sad joke. And don't get me started on the crappy sound so far.

Op, congrats on the new car. You got the last of the v8s. Sweet set up and the most beautiful color.
If I end up liking the new M3/4 then I will wait a couple years into production to get one for the above stated reasons, until then I'll enjoy my E92!
Thanks!

The first F10 M5 owners sure had a ringing with that oil issue. They had to park their car wherever they were driving it and have it towed in...that is if their motor didn't already blow up!

When did you order the car to get it still at euro invoice pricing?

I got it for less than $1000 over ED invoice minus incentives from David at Northwest BMW in Baltimore about three months ago.

Congrats! And don't sell it for the next generation, you will always regret it if you do.
I have a 2013 on order through David as well, will be in Europe in July to pick it up.
That color is quite possibly the nicest individual color.

Hey Curt! Thanks for allowing BMWDavid.com to place the order for your Individual M3. It's one of the best I have ever seen (especially on the front page of Bimmerpost) and it was great working with you. I'm glad we were able to get Santorini Blue approved as it was very close to the end of production.

Your BMW is being prepared to be shipped to California for re-delivery to you. I can't wait to see it after the mods!

Wishing you many years of M Power,

David

No plans on selling it, I suppose a next gen M3 would be an addition to the collection

That's like one of the last e92s ever built. Lucky man. How much $ did you save by doing ED I'm planning on doing it for a 4 series and I've been reading that you save about 15-10%

Anywhere between 5-7% is more typical. Remember, you still have to pay for a trip to Europe plus hotel and food. But yes, if you're careful, you should come out ahead.

In my case, I saved about 10K over US MSRP, and paid 1.5K over ED invoice (which is cheaper than regular invoice). 2 RT first class tickets and 8 nights in hotels paid with points only (paid about $200 in taxes to redeem the first class tickets with points, Starwood points carried me the rest of the way through). Spent $3500 in Europe for food, gas (S65 V8 engine + 1400 miles at almost $8/gal = lots of money), and miscellaneous costs like souvenirs, public transit, museum fees, etc. Which still keeps me below ED MSRP.

Plus, it was the most amazing driving vacation, ever. The level of driving skill out there is very impressive, and the amount of road courtesy will make you want to throw in the towel and move out there. No left lane hogs there... they watch their mirrors, see a faster car coming and move out of the way.

Oh, and get used to being passed by diesel station wagons. It will happen a lot.

Thanks for sharing this info it seems like a great experience I dream of such a driving vacation.

I plan on combining ED with the Grad incentive which will give me an extra $1,000 in addition to low financing. I've been estimating how much the 435i I want would cost by adding $3,500 to the MSRP of a 335i F30 fitted with my desired options and package (M-kit, tech package, park distance control and maintenance program upgrade)

I then subtract out 10% which gives me a total of $50,647. Sounds realistic?

Hell if you saved 10,000 off a $70,000 MSRP I should be able to save about $8,000 if my MSRP is $56,000

I will also be using a lot of rewards points on flights and hotels, I can't get a real estimate of how much it will cost me yet because I have not set an exact itinerary yet I just know that I will travel to France. Thankfully I won't be riding with an s65 v8 so I won't be spending as much as you did on gas

Like I said this just an estimate from a very anxious person, i will have to wait until July to get the real ED invoice price of a 435i until then I can only wait

Those audi station wagons were by far the fastest cars on the autobahn, all cruising at 130+MPH. You can usually find good deals on flights/hotels by booking online before hand, I only spent $1000 on the round trip plane ticket and no more then $200 a night on 4 star hotel rooms. I also saved money by not eating at really nice restaurants. All the corner bakeries and delis were delicious, authentic and more importantly, cheap!

You save about $4k for a M3. I think its closer to about 5% savings. But you can always negotiate down to less than $1k over invoice which is another 3-4K savings minus whatever incentives are running at the time. All in all I got almost $13k off MSRP on this car

Thanks! There were some brave souls riding their bikes on the ring with all the rookie drivers like me. A DSLR camera definitely helps you capture the experience although it can be cumbersome at times. For example, all the shots from walking around town were just from my iPhone since I didn't want to have a big tourist camera swinging from my neck and they turned out alright.

Fantastic post! Brings back great memories!

Had this same color on a 1998 Z3 Individual (327) - sold it 5 years ago:
