No sound from speakers

Hi guys, I have an 08 E92 M3 and have the individual audio I believe (the best one). When I start my car no sound comes from speakers whether it is the radio, cds, or aux. It has only happened to me 3 times while I have had the car (3 years now) but just happened twice within about a month. Usually works again after I drive and then turn it back on again. I don’t think it is the amp as i just got a replacement because the other one was water damaged. I know it isn’t a permanent issue and most of the time I have sound, but does any have any idea what could be causing this?

sounds like the ccc is having issues, does the controller operate normally when sound issue is present? does the cid (display screen) change as requested?

Just faced this on a frds E60 which had fiber optic cables near the amp loose, and a control unit submerged in water. Any codes are thrown ?

Won't throw codes unless its all unplugged.

OP, check if you have water in the trunk again.

FYI, similar thing happened to me on my previous 08 335, ended up needing a whole new ccc unit. Screen worked, all controls worked, but zero sound from every input type. Fortunately, I never fixed it and the car was totalled months later.

Sorry for the very reply. Water leaked inside the trunk through a gap in the left taillight and got on the amp. Had to get a new amp and now its fine

Okay, no problem.

The previous owner replaced the amp, but now I need to know how to prevent this of happening.

Do I need to extract the tail light?

Remove the tail light, clean up the surface and reinstall the tail light properly.

See the details here:

Thanks for posting. So your problem was the MOST unit? You bypassed it (only the optical fiber) and all came back working?

Interesting. The unit below the telecomm unit that he bypassed, what unit is that and what does it do? I wonder what functionality was lost with the optical bypass.
