Road and track coilover rear issue

I purchased the road and track coilover for my 08 e92 m3 and the front were easy but the back is giving me issues. I installed everything following the diagram below and been in contact from the company and all i get is if i followed the diagram it should be good. I keep getting loud clunking noise at any speed over any type of bumps.

my question is why are there 2 versions of the diagram. one with the std washer and one without. i used the one without as told by someone who works as a tech for Ohlin and it clunks, I tried it with the std washer and it still clunks loud. anyone willing to help would be greatly appreciated spent 2 weeks trying to solve this issue. thanks

That seems like an aftermarket rear strut mount? Monroe or Powerflex? Maybe try putting on the stock mounts and try? That said I'm on Powerflex street rsm and no issues.

This looks correct. Make sure the poly bushing actually went up into the hole and is seated correctly. Tighten the upper mount with the car on the ground.

The clunk is likely from the LOWER mount. I just installed Ohlins dedicated track and had that issue. I upped the torque on the lower bolt to ~90ftlbs and the clunk went away. The lower A-ARM pinches on the bushing with more torque thus preventing the bolt from rattling against the interior bushings bore. The interior diameter of the bushing bore seems to be machined a hair too big.

cut a groove into it then fold it into itself will be by far the easiest solution... but you are doing all this for what is 99% chance just a torque issue on the upper or lower mount.

we had a prior issue where the ball joint had to be slightly cut to make it fit in the control arm one side always kept sitting on the control arm uneven so we slightly shaved a little to make it fit flush in the control arm.

There are gold washers you were supposed to install there... and even after you install the washers there will be a little play which is why I had a clunking... I had to put more torque on that bolt and then it tightened up and noise went away.

Your kit came with instructions?! lol mine had none but there were two baggies... one with conical washers for fitting front end-links since they are round... and one with metal sleeves/washers that tighten up the lower mount in the rear.

all i got were the washers on the rear shocks to avoid bottoming out. the instructions saying not to remove, or can cause bottoming out.

i got top adjuster knob and the tool to adjust the spring height and thats all i got.

first i realized my oem top nut didnt fit was too big so he sent me 2 nuts (pause lol) than now i realize more shit was missing so frustrating because the directions dont mention these washers. it would of made the whole troubleshooting easier. appreciate it i sent brian a email hes out till monday and they dont pick up any calls all days not even sales. i sent fcp a email as well. almost coming to a end thank God

🤝 appreciate the help

i had a clunk that i chased during a loooong time. I finally made some custom bushes to increase the radial gap between screw/bushes. these bushes allow too a better tight fit without excessive torque on the screw. No more clunks. Bad Ohlins design (the only bad point on this kit IMO). Hope it help.

So I just swapped springs on my car and am getting a clunking noise as well, didn't have it before the swap, I did change ride height also. Wondering if I did something wrong. Car is at the shop, will report back.

Also wanted to share the e9x m3 specific instructions that came with my kit:

Also wanted to mention that I'm running the AKG upper shock mounts from 3DM as well, no clunking before I swapped springs and adjusted ride height.
