I agree it does look good in red mainly because of the red they have. BMW really needs to get a clue when it comes to bright red and add a proper bright, non-metallic red to the line up.

Melbourne Red doesn't look bad, but I agree. A brighter red would be more in line with the M3's character. I wish I had the software and p-shop skills to produce a picture of the E9x M3 in other colors.

Holy crap, am I looking at that speedo correctly? 120mph is at the 9 o'clock position? It would suck to be driving this beast with the needle always pointing straight down.

I don't think the RS5 will be a direct competitor to the M3 or C63 simply because of price. Audi will end up pricing itself out of the market with a sticker of $80k+. I'm not sure why they do that but it seems to always be the case with them.

Cant comment about US pricing.

Here in the UK the M3 is £50k and the C63 is about £51k if i remember correctly. The S5 is £39k which puts the RS5 at an estimated £53k according to established S-RS price differences. Remember here in the UK the RS4 outpriced the e46 M3 by 6k (if i remember correctly) but was still considered direct competition.

I estimate it to be around £55-56k with 450HP (4.2FSI). Naturally Quattro will be looking to the M3 and C63 as competition. I expect we will be seeing some great M3/C63/RS5 comparos in late '09 early '10 at least here in the eurozone.

Not alone - I think they look horrible. Cheap Japanese crap. Who cares if it performs, I wouldn't be happy driving it regularly.

The more I look at them, the more I miss the styling of R34.

Haha. I just noticed that too. How do you even figure out if you are doing 25 or 35mph?

It may be ugly, but you gotta respect how fast that thing is in straights and on the track. A true engineering feat.

The gauge looks like it reads in Kilos.

I got curious, so I did a Google image search. Take a look at it! It really would be depressing using only the very bottom of this speedo.

You wanna know what's f-d up about that?

A roughly equivalent Mustang (from an exclusivity POV) will cost you as much if not more than a GTR. True story. Click here.

I'd guess the GTR Spec-V will be at 100k MSRP or so.

The more depressing thing to me about that guage cluster is the 7k redline. Ok, so its like a 335i basically, but if I am paying such a high price then I will require a 8k+ redline, turbos or no.

The C&D review was stupid. The M3 lost in every objective category but it won the comparison...

I still like both cars.

yeah, that GTR speedo looks a bit retarded if you're just driving it on the streets.
