Happy new E92 owner!

Just traded my 07 Z4M for a brand new E92 M3.

I can't belive I waited so long! Anyway, I'm going back out to drive some more...need to get to 1200 miles soon.

Snapped a pic at the dealer this afternoon.

I know someone who went the other way (to a Z4 M). Be interested to hear your observations on these two ///M-cars.

Bit of history: I went to dealer in 2004 planning to buy an M3.. left with a Z4 3.0. Drove it 34k miles

Traded that in 2007 for the Z4M. Three years and 30k miles later, I stopped by the dealer on Thursday and after a nice drive, all I could say was WOW! What a car!.

M3 is NOTHING like the Z4M. Honestly, at times the Z4M was challenging and difficult to drive, but I accepted it because it performed so much better than the 3.0 I had before. So far, the M3 seems so much more refined, without losing the edge. i still haven't been over 5000 RPMs yet, so my opinion may be a bit premature, but I'm loving the car now.

The M3 really comes alive once you can go from 5k to 8400 - great revelations lie ahead my friend.

Some don't like the M3 for its refinement. Me, I do - but I'm looking for more of an all-rounder. Reason why I did not buy a Cayman S was it felt cramped to me.

Seems like you made the right choice

love the car. ahh, what do I see, Dinan Authorized dealer . you can keep it in there for some "refined" products: exhaust, chip, suspension, maybe a stroker motor

Thanks. I'm looking forward to some group events. It will be nice to be included on track events now that the vert is gone.

Nice car. I'm wondering if that was the black M3 at BMW Bloomfield Hills...if so, I apologize, as I drove the cr** out of that car during a test drive when it had about 70 miles on it. I imagine a few others did too. Hopefully, the engine and transmission did not suffer

Ha! Yes that;s the car. Apology not accepted. I'm one of the others who drove it hard too, at which time I decided to buy it. I was pleasantly surprised. It had about 190 when I bought it. I even mentioned to the sales guy that I hope no one drove it hard on test drives. He didn't really know how to answer that question. So far so good...

Nice. They gave me a great price on it after the test drive but I couldn't bring myself to do without the tech package, enhanced premium sound or CF roof! Hope you thoroughly enjoy it and congrats.
