more power
im gonna catch hell for this, but is anyone else a little unimpressed with the power of their m3? Its fast dont get me wrong but it feels like it could use another 100-200 ft.lbs of torque or so. i was expecting my 2008 jerez black e90 to be an absolute beast that i couldnt control but it seems easily managable. Fun and handles amazing but im craving more grunt i guess.

My two cents, you have to learn how to rev the heck out of the engine. Doing so will thurst you back and add a great soundtrack to boot. Keep it around 4-5k and you should be fine.
However, that isn't meant to take away from your point, as I do understand where you are coming from. While it would be nice to have low down grunt like the C63, I'm guessing a decision was made against that so the engine would be more usable day to day... and given that it is my DD, I'm not complaining!

Sounds like you bought the wrong car for you. Should have done more research. Maybe its time for an X-pipe and some pulleys

thanks. Its new and im still getting used to it. Had a 2004 330i zhp so no powerhouse there either but i was expecting more. i never even thought about those other cars. M3 is where its at. I havent been revving the crap out of it but i will do more of that.

how can you not be revving the hell out of the car???!!!!?!?!? I've only got 400 miles on mine and i have to put thumbtacks in my right shoe to keep me from going full throttle or over 5500 rpm. If i were more trusting i would pay someone to drive my car all day while i was working.

If you want a stupid fast car, buy a Ford Shelby GT500 put a few grand in it and it will run 11s.
The M3 is very fast if you know how to use it. As stated above, mash the gas peddle and keep the revs at the top of thier range in each gear. This car hits 60 in low-mid 4.x secs. thats fast. I think its just the way it gets there that may not feel that way. I drove an 06 M5 the other day which should be faster than the M3 and it felt slower, but I bet it was faster just the way the car drives and feels......Steve

I agree with the feeling slower getting to high speeds though. It certainly gets up there quick its just that the initial feeling of the car pulling at 3-4k rpm stays the same all the way through the powerband so we dont feel like its that quick.

The power setting is pretty deceiving. The pedal is way to sensitive as you get full throttle with the pedal pressed about half way down.

sounds like driving in normal may be the way to go after hearing from others. Just ramping up the response can be done with my foot rather than the electronics and might be more fun.
