This is going to be my first MOD,- Rear Window Sunshade, $170 for a pair, it is cleaner and cheaper than Tint. I've seen these shades in person at the store,- they are awesome, very clean and durable, flexible, come in nice travel case/pouch and quick to install/uninstall.

I had tint on my previous E92 and it never looked good on those windows since the edges of windows are rippled,- always made tint look cheap

Thanks for the recommendation for Tenafly, thats a little ways north of me.

Thanks again posting your #'s
With a lease you want the minimum drive off, put the additional cap reduction back in the bank. Also, I only recommend leasing if you are able to take the tax advantages of a lease. If that's the only way you can afford the car it may not be a good idea unless you want a new car every 3 years or so.

It sounds like you are playing with the numbers to convince yourself you can afford it. No reason to do a cap reduction on a lease, if you are hell bent on putting extra money down do multiple Security Deposites - that will lower your payment and you get it back at the end.
Are you sure you only need 10,000? You originLy said 12. Before I started leasing I had no idea what my yearly milage was and I wrongly estimated 10,000 and am paying for it at the end of the lease.

To purchase additional miles at end of lease isn't that bad,- 18 cents a mile is still fair. Just crunch some numbers, you'll see it's almost the same if you get more miles at the beginning or at the end. My last lease I went over my allowed miles by 20k miles! In 3 years I put 56k miles on that 335i !!! I would never do that many over anymore, but to do 10k miles over is a vey fair deal. Back then I had no choice,- my 335i was a commuter car. Total miles over came up to 20k miles x .18 cents/mile = $3600 I spread that evenly over my last years payments, and it wasn't that bad at all. Miles are not free, one way or another, you still have to pay if you want a lot of miles. I own a business, so lease mile overage worked perfectly for me as a business expense

Check out this link about ZCP Competition Pack,- it is awesome! There is a lot more to ZCP than wheels (which are wider anyway) it is an OEM Performance Tuning

http://m-power.com/_open/b/editorial...d=2086&lang=en

I was wondering, why don't you, instead of Premium Package and Sun Roof (if you get such),- get ZCP Competition Package for same price! Your E92 M3 will look stunning! ZCP Pack is a lot more fun than the Premium Pack.
With other options/colors you chose,- CF roof and ZCP set up will have a look of a supercar, like M6... I would seriously consider re-packaging your order if I were you... Good luck!

Man this is ridiculous! I want a m3 now, these prices are crazy. Although the factory is shutting down for august? Thats a long time to wait to order a car or be forced to pick one locally available.

It's only 4 weeks till September, goes by fast, and if you order now, I assume you would be first in Q for September build? As a bonus you get different packaging in September, but prices are not known yet

Thoughts on purchasing M3 coupe

Hi there,

I'm a new college graduate with a job of $65,000 a year. I really want to get a base M3 coupe (roughly totals to $60,000). Should I seriously go into the numbers and deals? I believe if I lease, the payments every month would probably be around $1000. Or am I just kidding myself and its too early for me to be thinking about purchasing/leasing a M vehicle. What is the usual salary/bank balance a person should have before buying an M car?

Thoughts please?

That obviously depends on living situation (alone or with parents), debts, etc. Only you can figure that out.

I can hook you up with my dealer if you are interested. About 250 over invoice. From there you can do the math. He's in Northern NJ.

Let me know if you're interested. If you have enough posts, PM me.

Do you have to return your leased car to the same dealership that you got it from?

Also, what are you typically looking at per mile for going over the mileage on an M3?

the current month's incentives and money factor make the m3 very conducive to lease. big thanks to mr dima for his recommendation to see mike over at tenafly... i will finalize my order next week (might have an expat assignment in hk for a few years :-( ) but i got figures for a loaded vert , $2.5k deposit, $250 over invoice, and a $815/month 36 month scenario

Bump...anyone know the answer to these? Looking to make a decision soon. I searched and saw other cars were .20/mi, but not sure if this is across the line.

No, you don't have to return it to the same dealership. You can return it to any dealer in the country.

The typical mileage rate abouve your allowance is $0.20, but may be $0.25 on an M3. However, you will have no surprises as it would clearly be given to you before you sign the paperwork.

It's $0.15 per mile if you pay up front, $0.16 if want to add miles within your lease period (but before 4 months from the end date, so not after the 32nd month on a 36 mo lease), and $0.20 when you turn the car in. The $0.15 and $0.16 are also refundable if you don't use the mileage that you prepaid for. Those figures are what sealed the deal for me, since I'll be putting between 20-25K per year on the car.

depending on the length of the lease, not every contract has the same rate.

Well, for the M3, these are the rates from BMWFS if you're leasing for 2 or 3 years. Beyond that, you're right, it might be different, but you should be able to get these rates without having to negotiate. If you're quoted differently, go to a different dealer. I suggest contacting GOLFFRR for more info and a true quote for whatever lease period you (or the guy that asked the question) is after.

Thanks for all the useful comments, guys!

Right now I have a '09 328xi Coupe that was made-to-order in December 2008. I leased it for $615 per month with about $3000 down (I think... I can't remember any more). I don't know if I was taken for a ride or not, but in any case...

DimaBimmer... thanks for your useful comments!! I will call up Tenafly BMW, as I usually work in the Englewood/Tenafly/Alpine/Closter area... my lease ends in 12/2011 and would love to get out of it as early as I can (I'm guessing BMWFS will let me get out 90 days ahead) and into a 335is or M3 (again, 2dr or 4dr - don't know yet).

Looking to lease for 27 or 36 months with 15k miles per year.

Any other suggestions (other than what's been posted)? Thanks, guys!!! You guys rock!!!
I'm deciding between an M3 (don't know if Coupe or Sedan) and a 335is. I found this thread by ways of G*ogle... definitely learned a lot in the few minutes of reading through all the posts. Thanks for helping out a fellow follower!!

dimabimmer - you should be salesman!

What should i do if i own an 07 335i and want to lease a M3? It would be DUMB to trade it into the dealership. I would be putting down around 25k for the car, for a lease???? OR I can privately sell it...
