Do you have any pics of it ???

These guys are as shady as fuck. Throwing the word "limited edition" in there to hopefully mislead people that this is a Lime Rock or something

So does anyone know if it was a salvage title or??

If it was only suppose to be used for parts it should have a destruction tittle or something like that.

Also states its a 6 peed manual in the original salvage listing but the eBay listing clearly shows a DCT.

That's what I was going to say too. Is that smashed car even worth $13k? I'd want the rear LCI taillights though

Based on what? Car interior looks OK, and the bodyside from fender back looks in good shape.

That car had to need a donor car for the entire front end. Everything needed replacement.

I wouldn't be surprised if the tranny and/or diff was damaged to from the impact.

current bidding price is what??? $27,600 and someone actually bid on that car with that price. That's ridiculous considering a pre-owned 2011 M3 without any accident and in good condition would cost about what $45,000 roughly I guess. That bidding price is totally overpriced. They say they did a good job fixing it but I will not bet on that. That M3 is going to have problems ranging from strange noises that will drive the driver crazy to various mechanical problems that needs many many trip to the shop to diagnose the problems and that's going to take a lot of time sitting in the shop and $$ of course plus lots of frustration for the owner. Worst scenario, the car breaks down because components not installed properly and cause major accident. I will say even if it costs less than $5,000 I will not buy it. If it's free, may be you can make some money out of it by selling the parts.

One last thing, the country of assembly listed on the vehicle history report should listed as US/Germany and not just Germany to be more honest.

45K for a 2011? That would be a steal, and it would have an assload of miles.

I guess I was exacerating. I just checked KBB.com. probably $50k to $56k. Anyhow, $27k for that salvaged M3 is just ridiculous.

"I will say even if it costs less than $5,000 I will not buy it." No its worth way more than 5k in parts. Seats, nav, rear diff, wheels, trunk lid, etc..easily 10-15k in value if you have a shop or patience.

My flood damaged car was sold as salvage on ebay for 30k and the new owner successfully drove the car from Phily to Louisiana. Not sure what his future looks like from the freshwater flood, but maybe he will get lucky.

Um... Salvage means the car was totaled. Why the surprise? Also, in most states, afaik, buying a salvage car means a comprehensive safety inspection every year, which can be not cheap, and a pita. Am I wrong? Has this changed recently?

The only time I would consider a salvage is if I'm building a racecar and the original damage wasn't to fundamental structures.

Hi, I have been in lurking mode for a while... when I saw this thread, I decided to create an account so that I could participate.)

I would be surprised if anyone actually repaired the car shown in the salvage auction... My guesses are:

1) It is a scam eBay add (more so than just being shady). The poster of the auction hasn't sold any other cars that I can see in their history. Why would someone just suddenly get into the repair/flipping business?

2) The VIN tag(s) were transfered from the salvage car to another M3. Maybe the actual M3 was stolen or not wrecked as badly, but has problems with the title?

I just can't see anyone investing the time into welding/swapping over the entire frontend off another M3 and doing a complete repaint/color change. The door jams which you can see in one picture are also orange, along with the engine bay.

My 2 cents... I obviously have no actual knowledge of the situation with that car, but it does look like trouble in any case.
