How to negotiate for an M3 with 600 miles on it?
Dealer has their (DO NOT SELL DEMO) all of a sudden ready to sell "to me"...ssshhhh. don't tell anyone.
Giving me payoff on my 08 535 (not that pleased about that) and 2k off of msrp. Thing is, it has ClearBra (which I wouldn't have selected) and it has 600+ miles on it. May stick my car on craigslist just to see how many bites i get but I am still hung up on how much different the car may be from my 535i. I am about to take a job that will require a couple of 2-3hr road trips each week. I'm 6'3" and 225lbs. Thing I noticed about the coupe was that the CF roof actually added some headroom... Thoughts? |

My friend just bought the dealers Demo 335 vert. (It had ~4-5K miles on it.)
He's had it for about a month and has already had to take it back to the dealer for repairs a couple of times. Everyone I've seen take out the demo M3 beats the SH*T out of the car. 2K of MSRP in not worth it. My friend got the 335i demo at dealer cost and some freebies (ipod adapter etc) He got his car for about 5k+ of MSRP on a car that is 20K less than the M3 |

Thats 600 miles toward break in! You don't know if everyone thrashed it, what about those little old ladies in the market for a M3? Its only 600 miles plus your getting the discount Keep it positive.

Yep, only safe if you lease, drive it like you stole it... 'cause that's what everyone that demoed it did.

The best advice is...get the car you want, with the options you want at the price you want...the M3 will be there for you in a week, a month or a year...or whenever all of your conditions are met...

I agree - don't ever buy an M3 demo. A non-performance car, maybe, but not an M3 right after its been released. A colleague went for an E92 M3 test drive recently, with the sales assistant driving part of the time - the car had under 500km on it and the idiot took the DSC off, everything to Sport etc and bounced it off the redline repeatedly and generally drove it like he stole it. Probably the first time the kid had driven an E92 M3 so he was making the most of it at the expense of some unsuspecting future buyer of that demo

I wouldn't purchase a used m3, let alone a demo. If you can afford to get a brand new one, do that!
