I just bought Mother's Chrome polish from autozone, and the black shit comes off easily. Just put it on a microfiber cloth and wipe...

I have read on the detailing forum that Akrapovic recommends
WD40 and a microfiber.

For the stock exhaust never dull or mothers.

I usually use APC with #0000 steel wool, followed up with Optimum Metal Polish.

The Mother's stuff hasn't worked well for me, especially with the stuff caked on there pretty well.

It got a large majority of the black stuff off, and it sure as hell shined the parts that didn't have any black stuff, but it still leaves residue. I followed the instructions to the T (rubbing it on and letting it sit to dry to a haze then wiping it off), but it seems like I might need a little more "oomph" to get it off. I am thinking I might need that powerball polisher pictured above.

Just my experience though.

I use a 0000 steel wool to get rid of the caked stuff then finish the exhaust tips and interior of the tips with the small powerball and some metal polish.

NOTE: I have to use a drill with a power cord otherwise the battery of the portable drills die pretty quickly, might also be because the drill motor overheats.

anyway, it works like a charm

Watch out for hand/body oil on Ti. The heat and deposited oil can react to leave bad, very tough to remove stains. Also good ol smelly WD-40 works wonders to clean Ti. Just use a soft cloth, some good elbow grease and the WD-40.
