Question Bluetooth to Text to iDrive?

Today I completed the software update to my 2012 X5, Bluetooth etc, downloaded from the BMW website. I am attempting to find out how to have texts go to my iDrive screen. When I open Settings>Bluetooth and select BMW, I see Show Notifications - ON; Sync Contacts - ON; and several other sub headings under Groups: Phone Favorites - checked; Phone Recents - checked and All Contacts - checked. There is not a Text heading I am able to check. My iPhone Software is 6.1.3 - the latest update. Can anyone provide guidance on how to get texts to show up on my iDrive screen? Thanks much!

I assume you know they don't just pop up. A small envelope symbol appears in the gray area showing music track information. You then have to go into Office and select messages all or texts...

I will attempt this, I spend literally, 95% of my working hours in front of a computer screen, so I am not an idiot with respect to this stuff. I am installing a ComBox into my M3 during April as I want both my 2011 M3 and 2012 X5 to be compatible with many of the functions available. PS: My M3 lives in the garage during winter due to living at 6700 feet above sea level in the mountains and buried in snow. Apologies for too detailed a response here, I will as if this works - thx much for your help!

Texts and Email are a default feature of BMW Office.

You must enable BMW Office first.
