Pembroke Welsh Cogi owners please enter!

So, my wife and I have been entertaining the idea of getting a dog and after seeing the "Too much cute" thread we finally decided on a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

My question to the Corgi owners here is, what are your experiences? How hard are they to train? Is buying an older Corgi better than buying a puppy?

Any input would be great! Thanks guys!

You always want to buy a full-breed puppy. The younger the better, prevent them from getting bad habits, fears, attitude etc. Purchasing training lessons can make a huge difference in the experience too.

My 3 have been very easy to train, and had no problems at obedience class. My male would have won in his class, but another owner cheated and he got 2nd place lol.

Corgi's are very loyal, good watch dogs, and very affectionate. Also very intelligent.

We could not find a reputable dealer in our area, so my wife found Margaret online. She was willing to send us the dog before we sent her any money, which speaks of how confident she was in her dogs. Numerous grand champions.

Surprisingly, our dog was about the same or a little more than if we were to buy him here, but he was AKC registered and the son of her champions. His name was "Becassmic Set to Score," but we renamed him Bootz (sporting his 4th of July spirit)

The only SHITTY thing about Corgi's is that they shed 3x a year. Shed, as in tumbleweeds floating down the hallway type shedding.

If you can deal with that, then they're perfect. Just get a Dyson

Perfect dogs. Easily trained, highly intelligent, great watch dogs, pretty much everything you want in a doggie companion.

As stated, Buy as close to puppy as possible.

Spend money on her young for training. If you can't afford one, WAIT until you can.
