Very nice run Drew. I love those GT's. Doesn't a twin turbo GT hold the standing mile record at 273mph? Those cars are beasts. It's good to see your M representing out there and kicking ass. I might be heading to the strip this week. It's good weather. Lets see if I can dip into the tens finally!!

Racing from a dig with RWD cars does'nt give you enough margin of error, specially with manual cars, if you want to compare the straight line performance of two cars rather then the drivers ability to launch. In a drag race, there's always one that has a worst start then the other and that confuse the result of which car is faster!

That been said, I love going to the 1/4 mile to try to beat my own time and see what my car can do, but when I want to compare against an other car, I look at the trap speed or I go race him from a roll on a closed highway!

; I been drag racing a long time, RWD cars as well and that's the point I guess?? regardless of start, 1/4 mile is about reaction time and 60ft time. All these numbers can be broken down and measured to see what a "good start" is. I don't really get what you're saying other than one car can get the jump out of the hole and that's the point of racing in general

Hey OP; not to get off topic but what was you're 1/4 mile NA record time?

I was thinkin about doing gears and drag radials and seeing if this car with bolt ons would be good for a mid 11 sec pass

Depends on what you like I guess, personnaly when I go to 1/4 mile, I don't care about the car beside me, neither my reaction time, all I care is my RPM and my shifts to try to make the best time as possible!

I don't race people to beat them but to have fun and looking how my car is holdin up against other cars, that's why I always try to make a race as fair as possible. Yes I'm happy when I win but that's just because it means that my car is faster and it's working well! Even when I had AWD I never wanted to race people from a dig(was doing easy 1.6-1.7 60ft with my STI) because I wanted to compare straight line performance, not off the line performance!

This reminds me of my friend with its stock 09 GT-R who wanted to race from a dig after he saw that it was a close race on the higway, I think it hearted his ego. Who cares if he would've raped my ass from a dig, that's only about 0.017% of the fun I have with my cars, at least I can drift!

Good times.

lol ,sorry I'm french, I meant it was easy to do 1.6 60foot, not that i was doing 1.6 when I was takin it easy!

Yeah me too I miss the AWD launches at the drag strip, but it's well worth it when I think of all the fun I have drifting with the M3! But I think I'll buy a set of wheels and DRs for this summer, I go often to the drag strip and would love to finally be in the 11s!

1.5 with an Evo, really impressive, the only 1.5 I saw with an STI was my friend who had a GT35R 25psi and it was a 1.599! lol My friend now has a manual EvoX stg2 and has not been able to do better then 1.7 , what mods did you have!?

Here's a list of times I put together here -

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=630463

I ran a 11.88 @ 118 with Bolt on's.

FWIW I don't have a problem with you prefering 1/4 mile runs, being old school etc. I think that's awesome, my problem initially, and I apologize if it came across the wrong way, was that we weren't at a 1/4 mile track, and that I don't just prefer roll on runs, but why not just say "nice run, do you plan on taking it to the drag strip soon?"

You have to understand there was a tremendous amount of time and money spent on the car, so I posted the vid to show the community what it's capable of, nothing more and I think these runs demonstrate how fast the car is and that our hard work (ESS, IMG's, myself and others) is paying off.

There were a few at the Shift-S3ctor Airstrip event in November, that were 1000+WHP, incredible cars no doubt.

Appreciate the kinds words as always!

Thanks Alex! I personally enjoy roll on runs a bit more, but enjoy all types of racing as well.

Stock gears, HFC Xpipe, Borla Exhaust, Rogue Pulley, GIAC tune. I trapped 119 as well, but something tells me the traps at Sac that day were a tad inflated, lol, ET is spot on though, it was very cool out , so the DA was excellent.
