Official M3 Damage Report Thread w/ Stories
Lets see what has happened to that perfect M of yours ...
I got my first a few days ago. I was following some modded WRX onto the freeway and he may have had some sticky tires. Heard a large rock hit what I thought was the windshield and was praying it wasn't the CF roof. Didn't see anything when I checked at first, but found this a few days later on the driver's side pillar. Not too bad, but I feel like I should fill it with something to prevent it from rusting. Anyone else have some damage to report?

Some chick rear ended me when me and badfish were having dinner. We came out of the restaurant to find this red Lexus embedded in my rear bumper. She apparently left her e-brake off and it rolled into my car.

Would a clear bra protect against that?

Not sure ... maybe if it's down to the metal. I haven't looked too close.

Yes.
Maybe, maybe not. Clean it real good first. The get some touch up paint and clearcoat from the dealer. This should have been one of those freebie things that they usually throw in for you, like floor mats. You should buff it down after you touch it up, but just the act of covering it up should keep it from rusting.

Damage
I've got a nice crease in my rear bumper cover from some parallel parker. The covers are surprisingly easy to dent.

Not sure when or how it happened, but I noticed this on the driver's side rear a few months ago when I was waxing it.

A stone from a truck's wheel cracked my windshield and it had to be replaced.

Ouch ... that's too bad man. If it was the front maybe it'd be an excuse to get the euro bumper.

The day I picked up my new M I dropped my pistol on the door sill. Surprisingly there was just a tiny little dent that I cant really see, only feel when I run my finger over it. Good thing it was a plastic part and not metal.

Well here's another one ... minor, but really pisses me off. Seems like I got hit while parked. The thing is I was in a spot where the guy behind me had NOBODY behind him. How does that happen? He just decided to love tap me? There's also some scuffage that can probably be polished out.
Bumper looks wavy now too ... look at the reflection. Maybe I should have clear bra'd the rear bumper! Probably wouldn't have helped against a cars front license plate though.

I hit a beer can on the highway the other day... but a couple little gouges on my lower valance... A VRS splitter will cover it up nicely!

I was going to buy a AW/FR with Tech, Premium, CF Roof and DCT that the dealer had unsold and about to be delivered, but I wanted to see it in person first. I really was close to making the purchase, but wasn't 100% sure.
A few days before it was supposed to come in, I got an email saying the transport and my potential car were involved in an accident and the car was not going to be coming... Does that count? |

You guys have probably already heard about what happened to mine, but here is another picture. The good news is that the engine is fine and I will be getting a Euro Bumper and an Eisenmann Race exhaust out of it since the exhaust was dented in the process.
