There're really 2 issues here: what should be standard, and what should be optional.

STANDARD (that currently is not): Leather, bluetooth, iDrive (with screen, but no nav). And yes, iPod/USB should be standard as well, or at least a freaking CD changer.

OPTIONAL: HUD, Brembo brakes, Sport Exhaust, front PDC (along with rear). Nothing else makes sense on this car, like ventilated seats, power steering column, and other luxury crap like that. Oh, and I'd delete power sunshade, even though I have it.

+1 on "Race Version" and option to delete items....or at least a BMW "Performance" option that modifies exhaust, lowers suspension and bbk from factory.

Basically, I want a M3 'Challenge Stradale Scuderia Black Series'.

-1 on the Brembo brakes...who cares about expensive bling, make it an option for anyone who wants to track their car.
Add options for lightweight seats, manual mirrors, and lightweight exhaust.

Alarm, rear back up camera, leather and blue tooth should be standard. For this price range we should not be nickeled and dimed into paying extra for these items.

Why do you guys want brembos? stopping distance from 60 is 100ft that is class leading... are brakes are fine... you just want brembos because they look cosmetically better...

How about a garage door opener? $60K and no garage door opener?
+1 on the alarm.

What the heck is HUD?

I believe the stock brakes are often associated with brake fade, especially during use on the track.

And nobody's gonna argue with having one of the top brake manufacturers in world too!

But only if they deliver noticeable improvements not just red calipers with a 3000.00 extra tag.

Ehhhh - my STi had brembos, excellent stopping distance, and everyone still complained that it was inadequate for the track. <Shrug>

very good points. Finally someone who understands BMW standards. I'm very amazed because its exactly what I want. Standard common thinks should be standard and Options should be offered. Maybe Heated steering wheel for Winters in Canada as well as hmm Heads up display for those that want a little more luxury. Not saying standard but OPTIONS.
