Ticket for tints and no license plate... some1 talk me off the ledge

First ticket since I got my car in November for no front license plate and 20%tints. $108 in total which is not bad but with my new gintani setup, I have a feeling I'll be drawing a lot more attention nowadays. Just wanted to hear inputs from those who maybe took off their tints or put back their plates and if it was worth it or if they eventually fell back to their mischievous ways

You have a M3, you can afford a couple tints and no front plate tickets every once in a while.

you could invest in show and go license plate holder or the one that goes in your tow hook.

Been driving without a front plate on my cars since 2006.

I've eaten the tickets... probably about 3-4 tickets in total.
That's not bad. The problem with this is that you become more prone to getting pulled over if you don't have a front plate, especially at check points. Then they check for other things like tints or anything else.

I have the gominigo plate and rocked it for a few months but got tired of the school boy racer look it gave. I think I might suck it up and put the plates but keep the tints...

I only had 1 ticket for tints after 5 years of owning my previous car and I had 35% front and 20% back that time. It is better to have the front plates and save yourself the trouble of getting 2 tickets.

gotta pay to play... no front plate is like getting a red bullseye hologram around your car.

In ny cops usually don't bother you for no front plate. Who you have to watch out for here are the meter cops. They give you tickets for no plates no matter what. Once I got 4 tickets at once. I had expired reg, double park, no rear seats and no front plate. That's was like 270 in less then 2 minutes.

Agreed.

I have been running no front plate since 1995. I am a California resident but have been living in Alaska (they dont care), Oregon (they dont care), Washington (they dont care south), Hawaii (they do care and ate the ticket), Maine (out of state plates they dont harass).

So in 20+ years of driving it comes down to the county and if they want to enforce and generally if your car sticks out with a loud exhaust or young punk not looking like from the area, they are going to ticket. Thats reality.

But most of the time its just a "tack on ticket." Meaning they got you for speed and tack on the tint, etc.

PBA card will only work on cops but not meter maids. You will get a ticket no matter what and especially when there is no one in the car.

I am in the same boat (no front plate and 20% tint).

I have been putting 20% tint on my cars for years and so far, have only received one ticket. I removed the tint had the ticket signed off and was back at the tint shop the next day to have 20% put back on.

IMO.... can't live without 20% here in sunny SoCal.
