My DCT is flawless
For prospective buyers out there don't be scared off from the dct transmission. aside from stalling once (i went from reverse to 1st while i was still rolling) my transmission has been flawless. it is so musch nicer than the SMG. no more passenger seat head bobing..... 3000 miles on mine and i drive it hard.

Mine's been flawless too. Not an issue in 4000 plus miles.

No problems here unless some of these engine noises are DCT related, but I don't think they are.

It's instantaneous. I pull the paddle, the gear changes on the display and at the same time in the tranny. I really don't know of the lag you speak of. Maybe I'm not an old person?

maybe cuz my car hasn't been broken into yet? or maybe cuz i'm still not using power/sport mode since i'm still in break-in procedure.
anyways, check out this thread and video and let me know what you think, a couple of people(including me) have the lag/delay issue when we pull the paddle. http://m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=221994 keep watching when he pulls the paddle and when the rpm drops a little...you can also tell from the engine sound. |

I have to make a video so people can see the lag. Like I said before: varoom to 4k click + paddle..1/2 second later the car shifts to 2nd etc. etc. Maybe my DCT is the only one..or others are in denial

Although I have not timed it I would place a significant wager that they delay is way less than .5 seconds.

its about 1/4 second lag. the shifts themselves are almost instant. currently automatic mode is always faster than pulling the paddles or pushing the gear lever for fastest acceleration in my opinion it would be difficult to capture on video but see if you can. make sure you can hear the engine in the video so people can hear the delay and shift with the lever instead of the paddles so people can see your hand movements better but no, the DCT isn't flawless ;p |
