How regular do u change Engine oil?

I've bought a used BMW M3 I'm picking up from the dealership on Monday I'm just wondering how many oil changes should a 2008 41,000miles m3 have?what is the normal schedule? Every 15-20k miles?

Depends on how the owner took care of the car. If he only used the dealership to do the oil changes, then yes, every 13,000 miles or so based on the way he drove. Most guys on this forum (including me) will go 5-6K miles between changes and do it themselves.

Manual goes by the CBS servicing which can be up to 20,000 miles which seems abit long for a high performance car.

I do it every 10k. This is no Honda/Mazda/Nissan which needs oil like every 3000-7500. We aren't in the 1990s.

I've had three total at 10500 miles. I figure you spend 60k or more on a car you love change it at 5k. I plan to keep mine too though.

Exclamation As per Mike Miller

The factory oil change interval is controlled electronically, but is presently about every 15,000 miles. If you are running BMW’s oil, I recommend oil and filter change intervals of 7,500 miles at the most, depending upon the results of oil analysis.

CBS and manual says every 1 year or 10k miles. You should have at least 5 changes including break-in

Every 7000 miles. 5000 mile intervals if you are tracking often in between.

15k is not recommended!

I do it every 3,000 miles or every other track day.

If we are doing every other track day, it's less then 1500 miles.

Every 7,500 miles is a good interval

7,500: you pay
15,000: BMW pays
22,500: you pay
30,000: BMW pays

7500 is definitely a good interval.

I however never hit that within a year so I just change mine once a year.
