I am not saying that the 3 point is the safest solution, but it has been proven in tests that a 4point harness without proper role protection puts the driver at significant risk. I run a 6 point harness and a full cage in my track vehicle. |

Even if is just to save the cost of replacing the bags when you crash
Everytime that I have disconnected a circuit on newer car,I have had to live with warning lights till the computers have been cleared.I will probally just wear an open face if I discover that this is a real problem or maybe just get a track only car. |

What do you think of running a race seat mounted with a good seat bracket on the OEM mount point with the 3 point stock seat belt without a roll cage? I'm thinking of running this setup in my new E92 M3 next summer at the track. I get better lateral support and a better seating position for 30 minutes sessions but does it really compromise my safety?
Thanks for your advice, Vince |

Make sure that if you do that you use a FIA approved seat. There are a lot of seats that will not be safe in a crash. FIA approved seats are sanctioned for motorsports.

I used to run sparco sprint's on my last track car. They're FIA approved and get the job done. They're also pretty affordable.

I have that harness which I used on my E46 for the past several years. I took it off before I sold my E46 and was hoping to use it in my E90 M3.
Anyone knows how to which front and rear anchor points to use on an E90? Thanks, Quote:

The ASM belts from Schroth are the only allowed 4-point belts in many clubs right now. There are 3 reasons. 1) They have anti-submarining technology, 2) They are DOT approved and crash tested to meet euro regs, and 3) HMS endorses them for HPDEs.
They also make a model that allows you to use a HANS, which is like having your cake and eating it too. I hope they are working on a version for the E90, HMS says any time now. |

I think the rear left anchor for the bracket should be simple. Lift the back seat bench and use the seat belt lower anchor bolt.
I am a bit unclear about where to attach the front left bracket though. Any idea?
