Questions for those who have the performance steering wheel

My car is DCT vert and I’m getting a good deal on the wheel from a close by dealer, however I need to know before pulling the trigger if there are any problems you guys got after the installation? For example Error messages…. Also are there any regrets after getting the wheel?
Thanks

Performance wheel

I had the wheel on my 335i and transfered it to my M3. I feel it is more at home in this car, but I do enjoy the G forces read out on off ramps and in parking lots. Not sure how accurate it is, but the whole wheel is a great conversation piece! And the shift lights are so much better than the Enzo or 599 Ferraris'.

That wheel should have been a factory option.

I talked to my SA, found out the fit is not perfect.

"Topic: Performance Steering Wheel for M3 with DCT

... (performance steering wheel) desinged for cars with steptronic paddles, not the MDCT (Dual cluth) type. The mounting holes are the same between the two type. The only downside is that the trim panels don't line up, so some of the metal/wiring can be seen, but only from behind the wheel..."

thanks for the review. Helps me decide.

I have the BMW PS, and I completely agree with Pencil. The main thing I use it for is the water/oil. I actually sometimes forget to even turn it on.

Personally, I wish they made this wheel without the Alcantara. Without gloves, I think the Alcantara is provides less grip then the leather. Perforated leather would have been the best.

I don't have perf steering wheel but I drive a DCT. IMO the best part about the perf steering wheel are the shift lights. The 6MT cars should have them from the factory. On the other hand the DCT already has them (though smaller) and they are pretty useful since they allow you to shift without looking at the tach. They light up in your peripheral vision.

So you will be paying a lot of money for some extra gauges which no doubt may be useful but not worth the price. Others are useless, like the g-force meter: if you are pulling any significant gs, you should not be looking at it.

You might be better off buying some data acquisition stuff instead.

i have one and like it. i dont use all the features daily, but when i do, its fun.
The g-meter hold the peak reading for a few seconds after u take a corner.
The lap timer is cool, because if u do lets say 5 laps. when i finished, it give you for each lap, top speed, top gforce front and side.
oil and water temp is fun, so you can check your temps when in situations where they could be going up.
it may be alot of money, but considering all it does, buying the equivalent in guages would be the same, except would be uglier.
For me the alkantara is good, i got used to it and like the feel now,
