Got my car back yesterday from the shop, they also removed the strut alignment pins for more camber! This is H&R together with MS 18/15 mm spacers...Love the ride not much stiffer the stock!

It made it feel floaty over medium and large bumps. Also, they were soft enough to where mid corner bumps would cause the car to get well into the stops, making it very unstable.
I have Eibach's and have never had this issue. I have the OEM bumpstops. I wonder if swapping to E36 bump stops was partially to blame. I didn't swap mine because I assumed that Eibach had designed their springs (and spring-rates) to work with the OEM bump-stops. As someone previously stated; the OEM stops are part of the suspension travel.

If you decide to try these out you'll have to post your review and let us know what you think and how they compare to your prior springs.

Bill,

Your website is awesome!...best DIY site I have seen...gonna do the V1 hardwire soon....

I just got the H&Rs installed, the ride is definitely a little stiffer, but perhaps more communicative of how crappy roads are here in So Cal. Although newly paved feel fantastic, and the drop looks great.

It is possible, but unlikely. There is about 1/4" of difference between the e36 and the e9x m3 bumpstops. I doubt a shorter but similar durometer bumpstop would induce more floatiness than the stock ones. The Dinan springs use the shorter bumpstop and aren't bouncy or floaty at all.

Hi!

Dont really know but i think it is the sport version, this is the item number: H&R-29.053.1 M3 Sedan/Coupe, lowers 25mm in front and 15 mm in the rear...

wrh3: Any update to the original post now that you have had the H&R Sport Plus (Race) springs on for about 6 months? Still like the ride? Still using the original bump stops?

kitw: Did you end up doing this setup as well? If so what what are your thoughts?

Thanks!

I didn't end up doing it.

I have a set of H&R coilovers with Dinan camber plates and shortened guide supports but haven't installed them yet.

very nice write up, i think I'm going to end up going with H&R springs. i do have a quick question for you guys.. do the sport plus lower the car more than the sports? or are the sport plus just a stiffer spring?

I believe they lower the same amount but the sport plus (race) is a higher spring rate. After using these for a few months, I was glad I chose the firmer spring rate- I don't think I would have been happy with the lesser spring rate but found the sport plus (race) to be perfect.

Hey all, I'm thinking about picking up an E92 M3, but my only reservation is that it has H&R Race Springs (aka Sport Plus) installed. It would be my daily driver, and I'm in Northern California. I'm not particularly concerned about ride stiffness, but I don't want to be constantly worrying about scraping/bottoming out in the streets of San Francisco. How are the H&R strings from that respect?

You will scrape more than stock but the H&R's are not that low. I would not let it stop me. You live in CA not in the snow belt where you can get stuck with a lower car...
