Supercharged, looking for best grip tires for 220M

I just installed a G-Power supercharger on my car and it is ridiculously fast. My car has 220M 19" wheels and I would like to know which tires I could get that would give me the best grip for 90% street and 10% track use. I currently have Toyo Proxes 4 on them I believe they are the stock size. I still have 90% tread life on them, but they don't grip anything in the first 3 gears. I have searched the forums for best size fit and grip, but most of the responses seem to have come from stock cars that did not require the grip for this much power. Any advice would be great, please include tire brand and size for best fit and grip. Also, if you could link to places that sell them for the best prices would be nice.

Stock vs supercharged, you're still limited by your wheel size and street tires so all those other discussions still apply. A small increase in width to 255/35 front and 275/35 rear would be something you can do.

This C&D comparison should be helpful though...

I would have liked to have seen RE-11's and NT05 thrown in this mix.

You can run a 285/35/19 in the rear.
I would go with an RE11 due to size limitations.

OP, you'll get a big boost in grip by going to something like the RE11 mentioned above or the Yokohama AD08. Really anything from what we at Tire Rack call the Extreme Performance Summer category.

Still, supercharged M3s generally need wider tires to truly harness the power effectively. The 255/35R19 front and 275/35R19 rear is a good place to start. You'll see some people running 295 and even 305 rear widths, but these will need wider wheels and may see some rubbing depending on alignment, wheel offset, and small variations in the build of the car.

The Proxes 4 is an all-season compound and can't compete with the best summer tires, so I'm not surprised to hear they're not gripping. Once you've got your new tires in hand, you can probably have a lot of fun roasting them off somewhere safe and legal.

The extreme summer tires such as Hankook RS-3, Dunlop Star Specs, and Yokohoma AD08 should provide you better dry grip for your supercharged beast! We would not recommend the Toyo R888 on the street as they are R-compounds, unless you're strictly using them for the race track.

Would I get any scrubbing with these 285/35/19 RE11's? I have stock suspension any everything else stock besides supercharger and test pipes.

I found that more grip was better achieved by switching tire brand/type
rather than sizing up. I'm also supercharged and have tried RE11's in zcp
stock sizes and also bigger 255/35/F19 - 285/35/R19 tires. I prefer the
feeling of stock size for the street.

I think 285/30/19 would be better choice for the rear to be closer to stock
stock tire height. I'm not sure which other brands with comparable
type of rubber would come in this size?

Another consideration is larger tire sizes are perhaps better on wider
wheels for less sidewall flex/roll.

I'm considering getting a dedicated track set of 18's in 275/35 squared
or a 265/35/18 - 285/35/18 staggered setup, haven't decided yet.

Curious to hear details of others experience.

Width matters for lateral grip especially if you're at the track going through corners under power

Yea definitely, I want to go get the car dynoed.. Want to set up something? Lets do some ESS vs G-Power runs after I get some new tires. I want to see if I made the right decision.

You are from the A-Town M club(David right?)!!! You are selling the Forgestar F14 wheels/tires?

However you want to do it. How about we swap wheels and if I win with them I get to keep them? Yea, we should do some detailed comparison between ESS and G-Power for the community to see.

Too bad they're not gunmetal. I'm not a big fan of matte black wheels. I'll take them if you want to give me a really really good price .

Why do you need 7 sets of wheels? There's only 4 seasons in a year. Can you send me some prices for each set? I might be interested in a set if I can afford them.
