Anyone know any good stretch of twisty roads in Jersey?

That would be a fun get together...

I know that part of 202/206 your talking about. That is a GREAT road, but you always see cops sitting and speed limit is only 50.

Drinking/eating/gambling/etc/insert idea here/and here/and here.......

Shadye90 and I scouted out a location near the Queens / Nassau border which would be good for a meet.

This isn´t too much of a drive for the NJ people but very few people from L.I. will come to the middle of NJ so this is a good midway point.

If everyone thinks this is a possibility, we can look into this further.

I calculate about 55 miles to Queens from Central Jersey (where I live).

This is O.K. but, what about members that might come from Southern Jersey or Pennsylvania? An awfully long ride for them....

There´s no point that would be equidistant for everyone.

Just as it would be far for Pa. people to get to the Queens/Nassau border (this is a NY/NJ meet, not Pa. in theory) it would be equally far from Long Islanders to come to Central Jersey.

Imagine the disappointment of someone who drives for 2 hours and finds only 5 or 6 E90s.

That´s why we have to find a.) a convenient venue for NY and NJ (not Pa.) and b.) a venue that is a destination of sorts to attract people.

O.K. ...let's forget PA. for a minute.
NJ is a big state. If someone was to come say, from the Atlantic City region, it would be 2 1/2 hours just to get to the mall in Edgewater as ml2x5 mentioned, let alone getting to Queens. I think northern New Jersey or somewhere in Manhattan would be more "equidistant" than all the way to Queens.

I agree.

Manhattan does not really offer places where several dozen E90s can park and be photographed.

It is also a 2 hour drive from Suffolk County to Edgewater.

I think we have to think in terms of traditional geographic areas, i.e. the so-called Tri-State area in NY when planning this.

I used to run national events for the CCA (the original Concours that was held at BMW hq for many years) and all too familiar with this issue.

Now, if I could tie this into a BMW CCA NY Chapter event somehow, it might present a two in one opportunity.

I will see what I can do. I´m going to the chapter meeting tomorrow. Why don´t you come along?

I am a former board member (chapter level) and haven´t been involved with the chapter very much recently. As many of you know, my primary involvement with the CCA is writing for the Roundel.

But I don´t mind coordinating this if I get help (hint hint).
