Exactly, just wasn't sure if EDC made a huge performance difference in the car. The salesman didn't even know what EDC was. I wouldn't even be asking for $2,000, but it ends up being a $10,000 difference the way the cars are optioned. Both dealers I went to either had cars for $65,000 or $75,000. There was literally nothing in between. As always, appreciate all the info.

I got tech package and it really makes the car special. I didn't get heated seats, or any other sound upgrades. If you love technology and being able to change a lot of the dynamics of the car through the computer, then its for you. How many cars even have the EDC option?

Now, I know you cant take Top Gear serious, however its funny that I'm watching an episode right now, and they're criticizing a car for not having any adjustable suspension. Sounds like EDC is becoming a standard.

I didn't watch the movie, but I would agree it is becoming more prolific. However, so are turbocharging and non-manual transmissions. People will still have their personal preferences independent of trends.

Ended up buying a 2010 GTR. Nissan gave me $8,500 more than either BMW dealer I went to. Bought the GTR for $1,500 over invoice, so no numbers games to show me more for my car. The car isn't put together as well as a BMW and the interior materials are lacking, but it sure hauls ass. The double clutch tranny is awesome. I wanted an M3 real bad, but $37,000 for my 6 month old Z4 was ridiculous. I hope the GTR fits the bill. Thanks to everybody for all of your opinions.

One dealer even has some bullshit package already installed on all of their cars that includes Lo-Jack, paint protection, floormats etc. and it's $2,500. I don't care about any of that crap, I'll buy my own floormats if I have to.

Is the Technology Package really worth the extra money if it includes 5 other upgrades? Without the "M" button, can I adjust the Steering and Throttle Mapping? Any opinions? Thanks.
nah not worth it. comfort access issues and gps not as good as a 200 buck harmon. save the money and less to go wrong. sometimes simple is better

Congrats! Hope you enjoy it. Hope the Nissan dealers there are a bit nicer and more formal than socal. That is very strange they offered you almost 20% more money. hmm. Yes the GT-R really does shift into the next gear much more abrupt than the M3. Pretty darn quick. Im waiting on the new Porsche turbo with PDK as soon as they put the PDK with paddles and not shift buttons on the steering wheel haha.

Lets see some pictures!

Man...dont let dealer BS you with all these options you don't need. Go to www.truecar.com and do your homework prior going back to dealer, you save $$$$ thousands! Dealers are cut throat tough... you can and have to be tougher. Dealer can make $4k easy in just 30 minutes talking to you over a table... you can turn that table around and make those $4k yourself

My favorite options: Electronic Damper Control (not the whole tech pac), Premium Sound (comes with nav/i drive), CF roof ($0. ), 6MT ($0.), comes to around $61k out the door!

www.truecar.com worked for me, and it can work for you too if you want to shave a few $k off the price!
