arkym rear diffuser normal?

Hey guys, so i got my arkym rear diffuser installed few weeks ago. But there is something bothers me about this diffuser. The edge of the diffuser seem sticking out too much if you look at the pics. Is it normal to have the inside of the diffuser also showing (the non carbon fiber looking part)?

The diffuser is on pretty tight and i had it installed by a professional shop. This is authentic diffuser so the fitment is right on but i am just not sure if that's how the center section of the edge should look

Any input or comment would be great.

Can you include a picture that shows that area in relation to the entire rear of the car? The picture is cropped so large that I'm not sure what I'm looking at.

I'm assuming your finger is where the diffuser attaches right in the middle lower portion of the bumper? If so, there should hardly be any space there.

I have the arkym diffuser as well. On my car, it didn't fit perfectly with the pre-drilled holes. When we used the pre-drilled holes, there were gaps between the diffuser and the bumper. Aleks (at Alekshop) had to re-drill the holes a bit to get a good fitment.

No that is not normal. It will need to be taken off and re installed. That edge should be flush with about half that distance sticking out.

Arkym Diffuser Fitment on E90 M3

Hey guys,
I noticed that this thread is a little old however, I just got my Arkym diffuser after waiting for it for four weeks and I am trying to get it installed. I took it to a local body shop here in El Paso only to find out that the diffuser doesn't seem to fit correctly. I have a Gintani exhaust and the tips are huge but the company I bought the diffuser from sear up and down that the diffuser fits perfectly and that it basically just needs to be "worked" onto the bumper. I had a Vorsteiner type II and I really didn't have any issues with fitment. The diffuser seems to touch the exhaust tip on one side and the gap along the top seems to be larger than it should. For $764.00 you would expect it to fit perfectly. I have included some pictures to try and show what I am talking about however, the pics are not with the 3M tape actually stuck to the car. The tape was put on but only to show the gaps. I was thinking one course of action would be to attempt to move the exhaust a little or possibly drill the holes a bit bigger so that there is more play to the left and right to move the diffsuer around. Let me know what you think. I'm stressing out about this!

Agree with you, it seems a bit off...

I have a Gintani too and a Vorsteiner type II and fitment is spot on.

Were you able to adjust your Gintani exhaust? All I need to do is push the tips out about 1/2 an inch and the sides won't touch the exhaust tip.

I put mine on myself. The tips don't move on their own, so you'd have to get under the car and see how it was installed.

If you took it to a muffler shop to get it done I would just take it back and have them adjust the exhaust. If not, it should be pretty easy (unless it was welded on). Just loosen the clamps where it meets the x-pipe and pull it out a little. All depends on how yours is installed.

Yeah I'm tracking that the tips won't move but like you said the point at which they clamp to the x-pipe may give a little in either direction. I guess I'll find out today, I just wish this stuff would fit for the price we pay for these parts ya know?

FYI you might have to pull the mufflers off and bend the mounting brackets around a little to get things to line up...not ideal but it will work. On my last car I spent forever trying to get my Dinan mufflers perfect and I was still never happy. With my new e92 I installed the Fabspeed mufflers because it has adjustable tips so getting the fitment to look perfect is easy!

LOL! I hate your idea but only because you are absolutely right and I didn't want to have to do that! HAHAHA. I think if I pull the mufflers off, attach the diffuser, and then put the mufflers back after adjusting the clamps where they connect to the x-pipe and then bending the mounts on the muffler that it will work out eventually. I just didn't want to go through that hassel but then again thats the price you pay to have a modded ride while others roll around stock!!! Thanks for the advice guys, anything else would be greatly appreciated. Looks like its gonna be a long night. I'm sure a body shop in CA or a big city would have figured this out and gave me the baby and not the labor pain but this is El Paso and if the square peg doesn't fit in the round hole then they just give up and make it your problem.
