Everybody in europe BEWARE!

this morning i found out my 335i and a few other bmw's were broken into. the theives took the whole nav system out of the car. the job was so fast and clean, theres no words to describe it. there was little damage but they did cut a few wires and screwed my key whole. now the only thing i can do is wait for the damage amount. i hear it coming like a falling bomb's whistle.

Oh wow. I am sorry to hear that. They must have practiced doing this countless of times. Those look really clean. Maybe if you remove the keyhole this would not happen? I don't know

Sorry to hear about the incident! Hopefully the bill isn't going to hurt too much although insurance surely must cover this?

yeah i hardly drive it cause I drive the M more. its a 2010 with 4950 miles on it, the good thing is insurance is paying for it. maybe i can get the newest nav system thats out. i forgot to mention they stole my ipod and y cable. these guys thats doing this got it down to a science. they even go 4 cars at the dealer i brought my car to this morning. i saw the 5 series which they did more damage to because the parts dont come off as easy as the 3 series(alarm system did not make a difference). im already ordering 2 key whole plug replacements.

Wow - that sucks sorry to hear. Newer nav in that 3er? Seems to be a big demand for Nav upgrades/retrofits to the CIC based systems.

Good luck with the repairs

It doesn't take long to get those pieces out - thief was in there less than 10 minutes. No connectors are cut or anything.

Luckily, there was no damage done other than the keyhole cylinder.

Unreal. Sorry for your loss.

I remember having a discussion with a Polizei last summer in Munich - he told me the majority of criminals that do these "clean" thefts are Serbian gangs and a small chunk of Turkish gangs. They sell all the parts to Eastern European countries.

What a bunch of filthy animals. Should all be shot dead.

Damn they really knew what they were doing....

In this case... the keyhole delete would have been beneficial!
