M performance exhaust tip issues?

There were a lot of issues with tip paint on these, are people still having problems? A friend of mine has not had any peeling issues on his after a couple thousand miles. Looking for feedback.

I received a replacement unit under BMW warranty due to tip paint peeling, I have driven it for more than 3000 miles and havent had any issues with the new unit, I am very pleased with this exhaust

Mine started peeling after 200 miles approx. I now have less than 1300 miles and 3 of the 4 tips almost have no paint while the 4th one is starting to peel. Does not really bother me just yet.

Tips look A LOT better without paint, so I'd just remove it, polish them, and call it a day .

I've had since May and haven't seen any issues yet. I am more inclined to think it is something to do with cleaning. I haven't cleaned the inside but there are people who do clean the inside for appearance. I have to wait and see how it copes during the hot summer months. That will be the real test. If it can withstand our heat then I can't see any issues.
I am yet to see other Aussie ///3 owners with /// Performance exhaust discussing their experience.

Thanks for all the responses. Looks like this may have been an issue for early units only. Looks like the reviews on the exhaust are still solid!

Mine will be 2 months old tomorrow and I have the peeling issue big time. Not sure if it has anything to do with earlier or later units.

I liked the look without the paint so I removed it as soon as I put it on.
My dremel w/soft wire brush attachment worked great.

Thanks Denk for the tip. I was going to wait to let it burn off as I did not want to use paint remover and be stuck with the remover that i will never use again. Here are some photos I took with a little over 1300 miles. You can see it was peeling off pretty good. I did do the dremel trick and it did come off in 15 minutes, then another 15 minutes of polishing the inside of the tips. One mistake I did make was when my daughter came out and asked me something I did not pay attention and the dremel hit up on my right side of the bumper just above the exhaust tips and took a little paint off. Kind of sucked but lucky I have touch up paint and the only person that will ever see it is me. Lesson learned don't get distracted with a dremel tool in your hand .

I've got a little over 2000 miles on mine. No problems so far. Looks just like new, but I'm thinking of removing the paint also. I like that look. If the paint starts to peel, I would do it right away.

The tips really pop visually with the paint removed, they were kinda hidden with the paint on when viewed straight on. I love this exhaust! It totally does the M3 justice in such a classy way.
