Saw this car at the Porche club skills day event last weekend.
Saw this car at my skills day event with the Porche club last weekend. One of the participants asked the owner, who was not attending the event, what the car costs. The response: $710,000. Yikes! Anyway it was a great day and I got to know my M a little better. I've had it on the track 3 times, but this was a nice way to explore the limits and not lose the car. I have a long ways to go with my driving but feel I am making some incremental progress.

The SLR is the most UN-IMPRESSIVE "supercar" ever made. It basically drove Gordon Murry away from McLearan. The MB V12 TT made more power too.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

If the guy with the McLaren paid $710K he just admitted to you what a total idiot he is!
The McLaren hardtop lists for $400K and the convertible for $455K. |

SLR
The SLR is one of the most UNsexy exotics ever made, IMO. The proportions are just screwy.

yea although the SLR is an expensive car, i never really saw it as an exotic... its a really really expensive daily driver to me... german exotics would include cars like the carrera gt...

I like the car, but MB has a way of mass producing their lines... it gets confusing which is which. That's why I've always liked BMW's... pretty easy to follow. Usually, higher the number, the more luxurious.
