I decided to go with this tune as time contraints were killing me....just too damn busy to either go to a facility and have a tune downloaded and/or send out my ecu and have my car down for a few days.
So, when I saw Evolve had this, I jumped on it. I am VERY pleased with the tune, the service, etc, etc. The download of data went smooth, although long...lol I got my tune, etc. shortly after and upload was way faster (15 mins for 140E program and a few mins for the tune). I think it is also pretty cool to be able to upload my stock tune whenever I want too. Its a nice bonus. The power feels really good....I can really feel it at top end. Bottom end also feels smoother with no flat spot below 3K (like the stock tune). I feel a big bump in power when I downshift at 60mph (DCT -- floor it and hold downshift paddle). It accelerates much harder now, even with the hotter ambient temps we are getting now. All in all, I can't say enough good stuff about the communication, the programming, etc. It was a pleasure to deal with Paul and the guys in the UK too. Everybody has been very professional and responsive. Sometimes Paul answered emails at 2am. lol Just wanted to add my $.02 worth. I am very pleased with Evolve, in every respect. |

Trading in my M3 for another one in Oct - current car hits the limiter at 168 on the autobahn - had many frustrating moments when the limiter has kicked in - i will definately be getting the tune for the new car! Was this 190 acheived with just your tune - looks like the car in the vid is supercharged?

European optional raised factory rev limiter limits the car to 178mph. It stands to reason that the top speed with the limiter removed is somewhere beyond that. On stock tires the 6-speed is geared for 194 mph at 8300rpm and the DCT for 206. There are several videos running around of people with delimited cars hitting 300+kph (road speed not speedometer reading). Only one way to find out for sure

The m3 doesn't have the proper aerodynamic construction with respective downforce anywhere near those speeds anyway...

Is the evolve software 32 bit only? If so, do you plan on a 64 bit version? I currently have a Mac but a windows 7 64 bit laptop is being built for me by Sager.

~200mph indicatedd = 184 mph on the GPS with more to go if there was more road. Evolve tune only on this car I heard about on the internet A 3 mile stretch isn't quite enough, need more like 4 miles with a rolling start to determine true top speed. The acceleration really starts to slow down around 180 and at 20 seconds per mile it's easy to run out of road in a hurry.
So I hear, anyway. The internet is full of interesting info... The 6-speed gearing might actually be better for this kind of thing at near-stock power levels because the DCT shifts into 7th at about 170 and has to lug that tall 7th (remember it's good for 206mph with enough power) from 6900rpm all the way up to vmax. The 6-speed hits the 5-6 shift at 168-ish and top gear is much shorter and only drops you to 7200rpm which puts you much closer to the power peak at vmax. Of course the DCT's extra legs will help if you have an extra 100whp like a supercharged car might have.

My software is installed on a Apple MBP i7 with Windows 7 64-Bit. I have flashed my E46 M3 numerous times with no glitches or problems

Flipm3, Ok so the software will work with Windows 7 64? I saw the attached and thought it was 32 bit only. Hamama3 thanks for the idea, I have parallels but I was planning on giving the macbook air to a friend.
