Buttonwillow 13CW - wet track 12.01.2012
Been 7 weeks since last track day. Too long!
It rained during previous evening and early mornings, so the track was damp when we got there. Didn't dry up 'til a bit before noon. First time tracking on a wet track, had a blast! .

Chasing you down early afternoon
Here's me chasing OC3 down in the first session after lunch.
Took some hard work but finally caught up... Had a great time as well driving and socializing with everyone. |

The microphone rig sounds awesome! No, but I shall try that the next time I track in the wet.

For a wet track, just turn the head light washers around to face the front!

How were you able to capture the audio so clearly?

Here is a post detailing my setup:
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...3&postcount=36 The short answer is that I use a Audio Technica ATR-3350 omnidirectional microphone (only ~$20) that I run from my rear bumper all the way to my GoPro Hero2 in my front bumper. It captures the exhaust sound quite well |

It would be nice to run that mic into the audio system to hear the exhaust better. I was trying to do that with a wireless setup but I couldn't find a cheap transmitter and receiver kit.
The audio would be the real deal as opposed to synthesized. |

Your car sounds amazing. I am running the same audio recording set-up as you and can confirm that your exhaust set-up sound delicious . Is it me, or you seem to be short shifting a lot? Any reason why? Last edited by CanAutM3; 12-09-2012 at 10:37 AM.. |

Good catch... simply a bad habit from the summer. I had lots of overheating issue during the summer and had to short shift to avoid overheating. My previous 2 track days at that track, I had overheating issues. I really didn't have to short shift that day since temperature was pretty cold, I guess muscle memory took over.
