Too much bad shit happens in the advanced groups. I had gears 1-3-5 last time, I can still manage.

Anyone point me to some good instructional VIR vids? It'll be my first time there. I'm in intermediate with an instructor but hopefully i can take a ride along first.

Here is a video I made last year with my intermed. student riding along so he could do some fine tuning to his line. Because we were out with the advance group, I had to manage traffic so the line was not "pure" lap after lap, but perhaps you can get the main idea.

Enjoy yourself at VIR - I am sure you will have a good instructor. It is a great facility.

Signed up for the enhanced driver training with Tom Long today. Will be pretty cool to get some coaching and to see what Tom can do in terms of lap times with my car. $185 for professional coaching, reference laps and some data analysis is a steal!

Pretty psyched!

Any of you recommend staying in Danville? Hotels there are 15-18 miles from the track or about 30 minutes. I don't mind the drive in the AM however don't want to be late for check in. I know check in starts at 6:30a. How long does that take?

Safety check at the track is pretty quick, less than 5 mins and I believe you can do the safety check the Friday afternoon. What may take the most time is waiting in line. Make sure you get your car teched by a shop prior to showing up at the track. The places in Danville are fine, the Sleep Inn is probably 15 mins away.

Thanks Dave! I've got a square set of Apex's that will wrapped with PSS just in time for this event. Do you recommend getting the TPMS sensors for these wheels? If not-what will I be dealing with?

Depends if they are track wheels only or dual purpose. For my track wheels I do not run a sensor and ignore the warning light that will come on. If you are going to be driving down there and back, as well as driving them on the track I would probably go ahead and get the sensors.
