How would a squared setup hold less power? It would actually give more grip.

Going squared is usually for the ability to rotate to even out wear.

Rears usually fit bigger wheels/rubber by design - plus it doesn't need to turn which requires more space.

The fronts are pretty much maxed out at 275 - any bigger will cause rubbing. You can't stick a 305 up front. So the only way to go square would be to downsize the rear to 275.

My walk around video just finished uploading!

I wouldn't sacrifice having a 305 either. Good choice.

I can already tell the difference on the street. I can ease in more power mid corner than before with the rears getting angry

I'm heading to forged wednesday night to install a splitter - that could be a good time for a spin. Where are you located?

I'd go ESS no questions at all. They've sold more kits than anyone else by a huge margin AND they've never had an engine blow.

I'm in Canton, so it is probably out of your way. Are you doing the mountain drive on the 22nd with Performing Imports? I'm going to try my best to be there. I heard of the blown engines, kind of why I'm scared of F/I my engine. Plus the price is kind of high, for me right now anyways.

Love the video...shows how much tire you stuffed under there
Do you get a lot of rubbing up front when turning?

Nice, is there any loss of steering feeling with that 275 up front? i.e. numbness

Of course it feels different than the 245 up front but the extra rubber for braking and cornering outweighs it. I'd say it's not a significant reduction. It's all relative - my co-driver for one lap took it for a spin and had no problems with the "feel" - there was adequate feedback. And it'll never feel the same as a lightweight car light a miata even with stock rubber. Actually the lower profile 30 rubber compared to the 35 also helps. Theres reduced tire squirm and actually makes the car feel more responsive.

Thanks for the feedback. Seems like this car will be even more of a beast when you're done building it for One Lap.
