First BMW you ever drove!
Not necessarily owned or anything.
For me, my parents bought a 2003 325i back in '04. First ever BMW in our family, sort-of our introduction into middle class territory. I wasn't of age to drive it, but I still had a few short runs with it. Funny enough, it's still in our family 14 years later. Damn fantastic car in every single way.. |

My first car in college ... a used 1993 325i. Friend in college had a '99 M3; loved the car; eventually traded the 325i in for a used '99 M3 as soon as I graduated. Friend went with me to test drive it, taught me how to drive stick at Lot 34 of UCLA.
Took his Dinan exhaust and intake when he sold his for a 4.8is X5. '93 325i '99 M3 6MT '05 M3 6MT '03 M3 SMG '08 M3 DCT |

Drove my friend's first car - a 2002 E46 325i with 100000 miles.
4 months later got my own 2006 E46 330ci when my first internship started. One year later my girlfriend bought her first car - a 2015 Z4. 6 months later I took the plunge into a 2012 E92 M3. M6 is not too far away now. Last edited by 330ciprem; 05-11-2018 at 01:52 PM.. |

95 325is 5 speed. New off the dealer lot. Sales person just gave me the keys and off I went. Had never owned a manual before but I had taken a couple of manual driving lessons. I might have stalled it once or twice...
I fell in love with the car and ordered one which ended up being a model change to a 328is. Now 5 BMW's later....

Back in 2008 I bought a 2003 325i, it was an automatic but man... it was great. Since then I've owned an 02 M3, 01 M5, 95 M3 that I race, and now my 08 M3 Sedan. I've also had two E30's as projects to resell.

3 different E30's in one weekend at BMW Skip Barber Advanced Driving School in 1991.
325i, 325is, and of course, the one that started my love for M cars - the E30 M3. What a hoot that thing was to drive around the skidpad and autocross course. Of course, I waited way too long to actually buy one for myself as my E92 M3 is the first BMW that I've owned (we lease an X3 for my wife).

My driving school exclusively trained in beat up BMWs. The first BMW I ever drove was a 90's to early 2000 3 series convertible with brake pedals in both the driver and passenger seats hahaha.

Not this one, but much like it: an Alpine White 1969 2002, picked out in 1971 by my first wife for her father. For her it was a fashion statement. The father-in-law decided he wanted a land yacht, so I took over payments ($51/mo). Compared to other cars of the day, including my MGA, the 2002 was a miracle. Sewing-machine smooth engine, intuitive steering, tossable, and practical. Plus it had the first radial tires. I drove it all over the Western US, Mexico, and Canada. Good times -- but it couldn't save the marriage.
This car had the DNA still in our cars, somehow lost in later 3-series.

My first was my buddy's Dinan-supercharged Techno Violet E36 M3 probably about 10 years ago. After that, got an E30 that then turned into Spec E30. Now my E90.
I was spoiled. |

After a pile of Volvos and SAAB I finally went for a bimmer (E91 325i) in 2008. Always thought the premium for BMW was too high but when managed to squeeze it out as a company car I gave it a try. Only then I fully realized what difference in daily driving experience meant, how fun it was!
Went 335i, 550i till current M3 which probably is where I stop but different story. |

Growing up my dad had a '75 2002 never got a chance to drive that, way too young... But the first BMW I ever drove was a 1991 BMW M5 on a test drive (this was in the mid 90's)...
