I waiting for the inevitable GT-R versus Audi R8 reviews. Two incredible supercars I will never own. The auto magazine writers have been nothing short of orgasmic about both new vehicles.

Dual clutch design changes gears in less than 0.5 second (0.2 second in R mode).
lmao, that's twice as long as the 335 takes in R mode and 5 times as long in normal. I thought dual clutch was supposed to be instant/faster than SMG. The F430 changes in 100ms and the Scuderia in 60ms and they only have one clutch, how the hell does the GT-R take 200ms with 2 clutches?

I doubt the 335i's auto transmission shifts quicker than the GT-R. In 0.5 seconds, someone could shift quicker with a traditional manual. I am thinking it was a typo or error.

It's actually quick, because that includes the response time and the actual swapping of the cogs.

Maybe it is a typo, since all official BMW and ZF documention clearly state that the 335i's ZF 6AT tranny shifts in 100ms (which yes, is very quick...as quick as a Ferrari F1 tranny).

Very impressive car, yet I was surprised to see that it weighs 3800 lbs? Really?

Earlier I was saying, I would rather get a M3 over than paying 70k for a nissan. Everytime I look at it I want it more and more. It looks so aggressive. and its a beast.

+1 The VW spec for their dual clutch is usually listed at 0.02 sec. They probably missed a decimal place -- it's probably the same for this car.

BorgWarner designed both the Nissan and VW tranny. VW produces them under license from BW, I don't know if Nissan is doing the same or simply buying them from BW.

http://wardsautoworld.com/ar/auto_high_gear/

I don't think Nissan got the poor man's version for the GT-R. The differences in times are due to measurement differences, not capability of the tranny.
