Warranty Got avoid

My Warranty got avoid because of my Lux angle eyes and my Front splitters.
I know it sounds funny, but it is true.
I went to Calgary BMW last week to have my horn fixed.
After checking, they said they can not fix it for me because I have my angle eyes and splitters installed.
They said I cut the wires when I did the installation.
They also said that I removed the Front bumper to install the spiltters, so I was the one who broke the horn...
Even more funny, they was going to charge me for the diagnostic ....
I don wanna fight with with em since I don even use that stupid horn.
But the statement that they gave me was just too funny...
Have any one take off there bumper to install a lip??

I'd raise hell with them honestly, did they even void your power-train warranty?

Fight it.

Show them how the Angel Eyes are plug and play and have nothing to do with the horn wires. Then show them how you installed the splitters and prove how it doesn't require the removal of the front bumper.

They have to prove that those particular mods have affected the horns performance. If they cannot, tell them to GFTM.

Go to a different dealer or talk to a different Service Advisor. They are just trying to make additional money off you. Its BS

Hmm...not sure if you're in Canada or China from your profile but here in the USA we have the Moss-Magnusson (sp.) Act which prevents stuff like this. A dealer here would have to show that something you did caused a problem and even then they can only void those sub-systems from warranty coverage.

Don't know if you have something similar in Canada (and I'm guessing not in China.) Best thing to do in this case is probably to put your original bulbs back in and go to another dealer.

Just show them you did not have to remove the bumper/cut any wire to install splitters/Lux.
Talk to Elise, she is my service advisor and she is great.

The two BMW dealers in Calgary are owned by the person.... FTL...

You don't need to remove the bumper to install splitters. I had mine installed at a BMW dealer. So they are clearly jerking you around.

I agree ... Find another dealer, seams like inexperience service supervisor/manager to me ... I am not surprised ... When I had my former MT M3 I had to print out and show them what was to be done during the 2000 km service. They insisted that the transmission oil does NOT need to be changed.

Bottom line don't believe all they tell you.
