strange paint problem

Hi everyone

Brought my car one month ago to BMW Laval after a minor accident. They repainted my hood completely.

yesterday I stumbled upon this "dent" (don't know how to call it)

Anybody could tell me if it's somebody's action or if it's a "reaction" of the paint? (it's 2 inches long)

pics attached

thanks in advance

It's strange alright...

I'm no paint expert...looks like physical damage then a paint reaction.

Have you taken the car to a car wash after the paint job?

First couple of weeks is crucial after a paint job...no car wash...no setting object on top of painted part...parked inside garage for overnight...

Hope you can resolve with dealer without problem

the dealer should be able to take care of this with no extra charge. their paint jobs typically have warranty against things like this. unless its obvious that you used something to scrape off the paint or something.

Let us know the outcome. It does look like physical damage but maybe not. Regardless I would like to hear how BMW responds.

I hope your able to get the dealer to repaint it...but to me it does look like physical damage...like someone scrapped it with a chisel or something.

They will finally repaint it under warranty. They told me it was a reaction of the paint.

thanks everyone for your advice!

That's weird. Glad to see it's getting resolved without too much hassle.
