Airstrip Attack: ESS VT2 M3 vs. Cammed Z06
I got a chance to run Ryan@Shift-S3ctor's cammed/tuned Z06. This same Z06 put 3 cars on the Arkym Orange ESS VT2 650 M3 at Trona.
Sorry about the bad vid...but if you want to know what happened to the Z06...you can follow the shadow it casts from the start

wow, why do you think you were able to stay with him if not beat him (I cant tell) and the vt2 650 was beat?

For sure DA's were lower but that would lead to an advantage for both cars. The only advantage I possibly could have over the VT2 650 is that maybe it wasn't catless. I'm running an MRF catless x-pipe and so maybe that was the difference. Given how this Z06 has performed at all the Shift-S3ctor events, this outcome was not expected.

Took me a couple runs on Day 1 to figure it out (was spinning a lot and hitting fuel cut-off in 2nd gear) but after that I got better and the car just seemed to get stonger and stonger as it adapted to the higher octane (started with around 95 and kept blending more 100 as the event progressed). I want to dyno again with pure 100 as I think it will make quite a bit more.

If Adam had only ran one Z06, I'd say it was possibly just a fluke, but he ran another one that has demonstrated how fast it is against other SC'd M3's. I think the only conclusion we can come to, and I'm as surprised as anyone else, is that his car is faster than the VT650 at the Trona event, or he's a better driver than me.
