Florida Doc & Dealer Fees

These fees on a $35k used M3 seem a little suspect to me. What are you guys seeing in Florida?

Doc Fee: $787 ("doc fee is the Dealer Fee. Standard in the state of FL")
Taxable Fees: $428 ("we outsource the title work to a 3rd party co. and includes the doc stamp")
Non Taxable Fees: $425 ("registration for Florida and out of state deals" ---which mine is as I'm shipping to CA)

I don't mind paying for what's required and maybe a couple hundred for the dealer to do the document work but $1,640 in total fees seems extreme (especially since the title transfer fee in CA is $15 and the registration fee is $45).

I usually negotiate the "out the door" price. They can then back calculate everything else if they really need to show all those fees. That way if you are comfortable with the "out the door" it shouldn't matter.

I'm a dealer in FL and those fees are bogus. If you are out of state they can make you sign a waiver and register your own car since you are out of state. Big dealers like to invent fees
