Agreed....much like the IS350 F-Sport....not the most powerful in the segment nor the lightest but many a reviewer preferred its overall dynamics and feel when pushed vs its main competition F30-335i and ATS 3.6.....

Things become more interesting now.
Well, this GS-F will not be an equivalent competitor to the M5, E AMG, RS6, and +600 PS CTS-V, as unlike the other, it will lack 2 turbos. But at least it shows the RC-F's potential.

Of the cars listed above, how many have you actually driven, RC-F included?

"Hey man, what made you pick the RC-F over the M3?"

Is the noise through the speakers any more egregious than this?

Just curious how you know it's such a good car.

Because I like the current IS-F, so what I like is good for me, even if objectively there might be some other better alternatives.

Not surprised. Overpromised ans underdelivered. My current C63 P31 walks it if this is any indication.

And here I was slightly excited for this car...

NEXT.

The reviews are surprisingly mellow given the initial hype. It doesn't sound as radical as I was expecting.

Awesome that it was designed by Yamaha. They've definitely proven themselves capable of making some cools hi-po engines over the years. Man that 5.0 is an ugly lump though under all those covers:

Reviews are mellow for sure.

Car and Driver

"There are very few moments in life when we’d say 467 horsepower isn’t enough—but this is one of them. While the outgoing IS F’s 5.0-liter V-8 was thoroughly overhauled for the new RC F, the car also gained a good bit of weight, and the RC feels no quicker than the IS. Dripping wet, this car breaches the two-ton mark, some 200 pounds heavier than the IS F, and the mass will only increase with optional add-ons."

Performance package actually adds more weight. An additional 50 lbs from torque vectoring diff.

"The carbon parts save 15 pounds and by design offset some of the heavy, electronically controlled diff’s mass, but the package still adds 50 or so pounds to an already heavy car."

The HP number is nice, but the weight is not. Granted if I were to get this car I wouldn't be tracking it so it doesn't matter too much, but still would have been nice to have it lighter for better accel.
This thing will still turn heads for sure though.

It would be better if it were lighter (performance, handling and consumption), but anyway I still like it more than anything else in this class. I do want it.

RCF seems to come up short on pure fun factor again. Though Lexus is more than that. My money is on the 981 Cayman S and keep my Lexus as daily which is by far the most reliable car I ever owned. Crossed the 80k miles yesterday and it drives practically the same as first day.
