Saw a 2011 Frozen Gray M3 in person!

Tonight I had the privilege of seeing a 2011 Frozen Gray M3 in person. The color looks spectacular in person, and the Competition wheels look amazing! Sorry about the poor picture quality...my battery was dying, and there was a huge crowd around the car.

What dealer? I assume it was some sort of NA launch for the car?

Hey Awesome - didn't realize you were there! Several M3Post members were there - and I think we all agree that the Comp Package wheels are fantastic.

The frozen gray looks pretty cool, but I don't know what I'd do if I owned a car that I couldn't wax!

The event was the NJBMWCCA's annual meeting at BMWNA HQ. Larry Koch organizes it for NA, and they set up 4 presentations in their training facility. We have 15 minute sessions in each training classroom, where the NA product manager and a technical trainer explain the vehicle. This year we saw the new 5 series, Z4 35is, 335is, and Alpina B7. The Frozen Gray M3 was under cover in the main hallway until Larry and Martin Birkmann unveiled it.

The evening wraps up with a Q&A session - this year with Martin Birkmann. There's also a raffle for a few door prizes. Four lucky people went home with "slightly used" wheels from the ALMS M3s. There was also a pile of bodywork scraps that lasted about half a minute. (One man's trash is another man's treasure!) They also raffled a couple of watches, scale models, and a few other things.

Thanks to the product people at BMW NA for continuing this long tradition!

Larry, are you Midlifecrisis? If so, it was great meeting you last night (I'm a friend of Mike's).

Great write-up of the events last night. I was too tired by the time I got home to write up a descritpive narrative. Yes, the Comp Pkg wheels look amazing!! You and the NJ chapter did an awesome job of putting the BMW NA meeting together , and seeing the Frozen Gray M3 in person was the highlight of the night! I'm greatful for being able to share in the evening's festivities!

Is it possible to protect that paint with a clear bra while keeping the look?

Am I the only one that finds this odd... a special edition without extended leather?

Thats me! Shoot, and I was trying to keep it a secret! (Not.)

It was great seeing you last night. I was really impressed with the number of M cars in the parking lot!

I just finished watching the Rolex race from Mid Ohio, and BMW's won both classes!

Ganassi won in DP, to nobody's surprise. The big news is that Turner won the GT race in the M6 with Bill and Joey! Way to go guys!

On behalf of the 30 lucky dogs who'll own this car, thanks! Personally, I'll maintain my old fogey image and keep the sedan!

I add my thanks to the NJ chapter and BMW NA for a great time last night. The tour was a lot of fun. I stopped by the local dealer today to show the wife the 335is to find out they aren't even for sale yet.

I'm watching the Nationwide NASCAR guys at Road America right now. I hope I get to go to O'fest and drive the track myself.

awesome color, wish it was in the OEM list. 5k extra is also a little steep. Beautiful though, just not 5k beautiful.

I'm torn, I think the color is neat, but not as a daily driver (it looks a bit strange, almost ricey) it stands out more than what I like... But, I would LOVE to have a one as a track car (with black wheels) if I had the coin, that would be bad!

In fact, I'd love to have one in the garage just to stare at, sitting in a chair enjoying a drink.
