Well he said art, not posters. Unless they're vintage style and framed/matted, do not put up posters. You're in NYC right? There are so many up and coming artist and galleries. Find someone who's work you like and pick up a few pieces.
• definitely cover up the speaker wires, and organize that mess of wires behind the tv • get some stuff on the wall - maybe some of those floating shelves to add some dimension • paint the wall behind the tv as an accent wall - a dark coffee color would look good • coffee table is in order; so is a lamp

I think the only way to watch movies is on the big screen. Projector.
And you dont have to spend much money or time to get the right mood out of a small room. Som paint, fake panels and the right chairs. And of course the tools and time...... And their you go........................

Okay, so much talk and the main thing that jumped out at me was the futon... that is more college kid than bachelor pad. That is the first thing I would do personally (get rid of it)
Then perhaps a desk for that nice monitor of yours

1) Run the wires for the wall speakers behind the wall, or get floor units. The speaker wires look terrible.
2) Get a better TV stand. The desk is pretty ghetto. Staples and Target have cheap stuff that looks decent enough if your budget is short. 3) Hang some art / pictures on the wall! 4) Ditch the futon. Get a sofa. 5) Get a coffee table and end tables, and some lamps. Good luck! |

Its tiny but cosy - you dont feel the size. Your room are not big to. So there are lots of things you can do.
Led and stuff - nope. Movies have to be seen in red theater. Thats the classic way.

1) You need to get a real monitor. This is the most important thing. A midrange monitor will have the same/more pixels than a 1080p television costing thousands more.
2) You should have bought a big DLP TV for the same price as that (relatively) small LCD television. Too late now though. 3) I'd suggest a Wii as well.

You cant hardly find anything better then Samsung on the market. And - it was the first TV to come with real 1080. Not just "HD ready".
Nice TV. Back projection TV´s sux. Then you are there where you invenst in a real projector instead.

Take the ps3 and put it down flat, you have it vertical and there are fans there where its sitting on the wood for ventilation... You will burn it out over some time IMO...
