Installed my JL motoring GTS wing
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Alot of measuring back and forth to get it right. Drilling the holes was the only scary part of the install. The quality of the wing is not bad IMG_0953 by djbroray, onFlickr IMG_0954 by djbroray, on Flickr I used a hole saw so i can get passed the frame to get to the trunk top |

I like the GTS wing ... I think you should get thetrunk black part painted white, it would flow better I think. But it's your car do what makes you happy, there will always be haters.

I think it looks good. There is definitely something to be said about having the balls to drill the trunk. I'm not sure if I could do it. Congrats!!!

I just bought myself the ModeCarbon GTS wing - is there any spec on exactly WHERE you're supposed to mount this thing? How did you know how far back on the trunk you go?

i followed a few pointer that was on here used the photos that were online for reference
its sits far back as it can... then i put blue painters tape down the middle of trunk.... measured the wing then found the middle point then aligned the tape on the trunk with the tape on the wing... just to get to a starting point... then measured the distance from the raisers mounting point out to the end of the trunk on both sides.... kept on measuring for like 2 hrs just to get it right.... then traced the outline of the riser's tabs to the trunk where i put blue tape... made a template of the bottom of the mounting risers... with the holes.. transfered the holes on the template to the trunk lid... the scary part and point of no return is the hole drilling... you need . a friend to help you will need an extra lock washer in regular washer on the mounting screws.. make sure they are stainless steel. i also siliconed the bottom of the riser's for no water leaks.. becareful dont tighten down the mounting bolts too tight as you will dent the trunk and when in doubt get a pro to install it |

How is it holding up? I got mine in and am super concerned with he fact that the wing is supposed to be held on by 4 tiny bolts and 4 tiny washers.... seems like it won't be all that sturdy --- thoughts? I see you mounted yours with the same - just the 4 bolts and washers.... I mean, if this is the supplied hardware (mine is from modecarbon) than I should assume it's been tested?

That looks very fine, not too big.
Do you got better handling? You should have much more downfoce on the back, do you know how much pounds@150 mph ? That would be interesting. Greets |
